he probably wasn't especially since you didn't give him a chance to adjust to you.
after the 1st wipe you knew what to expect. after the 2nd wipe when he realized that you couldn't handle it, you already quit the run. considering the party already killed a few mobs the next pull should have been easier anyway.

by what you told us you really shouldn't judge the tank at all. he just did what he always does in this dungeon.

With the removal of protect (10% permanent migitation) and the changes to the tank stance (removed 20% permanent migitation for PLD/DRK or 20% more life and healing for WAR) tanking and on the other hand healing changed alot in "well known" content.

Even when using the def cds optimally, there are many tanks that don't use them at all, you will not be able to tank and heal the same amount of mobs as before.

There are still alot of people, that didn't noticed this heavy changes for tanks.

And there was a tank in Mt. Gulg who didn't face the bosses north. According to him, it's how he always tanked. Doesn't make it ok.

As a Tank imo Healers are the most important Role in the game, without them there's no DPS to do, there's no Aggro to hold, because everyone dies. So people who think Tank is "hard" please, gimme a break, we can survive to damage that no one can survive because our defense and CDs are high, which allow us to do many mistakes. And there's nothing hard to hold enemies aggro, come on, most of fights MT just stand in their positions because 90% of boss mechinics do not target us, and Aggro generation in ShB is easier than ever, no one takes your Aggro anymore. Healers are the one who must clear all our mess, make the same job that DPS does and don't let anyone die in the process, not to mention that if healers dies the Party is probably going to wipe, so they can't even die as much DPS and Tank can.

Anyway, said that when i'm not playing as a Tank i see many tanks that NEVER use their CDs in Big Pulls and keep saving them for the bosses, that doesn't make sense at all since bosses don't do the same damage amount than Big Pulls does, and your CDs is going to refresh for the bosses as well, if you going to save your CDs ( what you shouldn't ), save it for Big Pulls, not for bosses.

And i just love when i find a WHM in my Rolettes and Tomes Farm, they are Gods in Dungeons, their Healing are strongs, their Regens are amazing, but not only that, their Holy is the best AoE in the game without question for me, it does the same Hallowed Ground effect for EACH Pull you do. It's amazing, that's means Less Damage taken, More Damage Dealt and Faster Clears :3

Whm main here. I want every tank I party with to pull every monster wall to wall. Bonus points for sprinting. They should use their cooldowns. I should use mine.

Thanks need to zig zag and grab aggro as they run through enemies. You only need to run in a straight line towards them. You should be able to get a hardcast in before the dash is complete. Sometimes even two if you have to. And always keep regen on them. You don't have as many ogcd options at 50 so you need to use what you have well.

Once tank is done pulling everything, you should jump in the center of the enemies and swiftcast holy before anything else. This buys you a ton of time to heal your tank and go back to spamming holy. Presence of mind is helpful if you're struggling to heal the tank fast enough, but if your gear is over 100 in level 50 content, you shouldn't be having this issue.

Remember that although whm don't have good shield options, aoe stuns are better "healing" than shields ever will be.

Both, with lv50+ you can heal from wall to wall pull in dungeon. At low level it's pointless as most jobs do not even have their aoe for big pull. For the tank, he should change his expectation after the first wipe. So both.

Big pulls are the norm for most dungeons (there are exceptions).
With the new tankstance there are no more enmity problems so dps can even kill mobs while running and healers can throw heals on the tanks during the pulls.
I recommend getting used to using sprint and always stay right behind the tank to avoid getting left behind.
As mentioned from others Holy and Benediktion are great tools for big-pull-healing. As your lvl gets higher you will get more instant healing spells which help for those pulls.

One thing i haven´t seen mentioned in this thread is, that actually i would count the first room of Hullbreaker Isle as one of those exceptions. Reason: the bees use a form of final sting and there are 4-5 of them in the big pull. That can actually be a problem if dps dont focus those and/or they are not stunned and/or if the healer is not prepared for it (because first time).

Who said that i mostly play WHM?, rarely i play WHM, i'm Main Tank for years and i do all End-Game Content as Tank, especially GNB at this moment as priority because i'm farming their mount and Tittle Achievment, since i have mounts for all Tanks already.

It's not because there's a WHM in my Profile Pic right now that means that i "mostly" play WHM, how can you presume that?. There's a WHM in my Pic because the last time i loged-out i was helping 2 friends of mine who started playing the game last month with their SB Contents ( Dungeons, Deltascape, Ivalice ) for faster queues since Healers are faster at this moment, and WHM imo are the best for Dungeons since Holy gives a "Hollowed Ground" effect for each pull, and WHM imo are the best for Random Full Party Members stuff because their skills can stack so i don't have to worry about waste MP with Shields as SCH because the another SCH is using Shields too, or another AST use their Cards over mine wasting my CDs for it, and i can prevent any Toxic Healer if they die too much ressing/healing by myself ( what usually happens a lot since they don't know most of mechanics yet ).

So take yours "lols" and "lmaos" away snowflake.
