People are leveling other things and people that play healers most likely already finished all their healers or they only play one.
When I say endgame I'm talking about ex Primals and savage btw.
Healer roles almost never in need of them.
Also I don't think I ever seen expert needing a healer, it's always a tank.
I see healer in need a lot on expert. As for savage content, it doesn't shock me, tbh, healing is the easiest job right now, and most people are willing to take even a halfway decent healer, DPS is a much more competitive job, and tanks make 1 tiny mistake and wipe the whole team, leading to a stressful role. With how lax healing is in this game, you don't have nearly the same level of competitiveness or the same level of stress.

Make SCH great again! Seriously though, we just want our class to be fun and engaging again, not OP, is that too much to ask for?

Must be a difference in times then because I see tanks in need for expert more.
Also really? Healing isn't stressful? A mistake on healer part can also wipe the raid.
Heck even a healer dying can lead to a wipe. Healers and tanks have it hardest imo.

Also you're wrong about tank Making mistakes, because they can live through stuff that would otherwise kill a DPS or healer. Like evil earth on es4

With how big the heals are, and how little you have to heal, yes. I find healing to be much easier than tanking, and most people I've talked to agree. Especially when all you're doing is spamming 1 button most of the time. All the tank has to do to wipe the group is forget to CD a tankbuster, or turn the boss the wrong way, and they'll take the entire team with them. If there aren't enough tanks up for a shared buster, then that typically leads to a wipe as well. The worst thing that can happen as a healer is that you maybe miss a heal, but typically, even if you do, I find having even a somewhat decent co-healer, they'll usually make up for that.

Hmm that's true about the tank buster, got me there.
I'm looking at healing from a DPS pov. I don't heal anything pass ex primal.
So to me healing looks pretty rough.

That's the odd thing I've seen on my Data Center. Most of the time it says "Adventurer in need: Tank". I proceed to queue as tank, after 30 s it says Im in a waiting list. Try to requeue as Healer and it pops instantly. If it happend once or twice I'd calk it up on DF not updating fast enough and Healer/Tank in Need is more or less the same.

I haven't quit healing, but I have dropped Astrologian entirely. I see no reason to play it or for it to even exist really in its current state. Rather than redesign it away from a carbon copy of White Mage, the developers doubled down on it while removing unique parts of their kit. What purpose does Astrologian serve to exist when almost every single skill and ability is a reskinned version of something from White Mage?

I was sincerely hoping Shadowbringers would continue to differentiate Astrologian with abilities like Earthly Star and 4.0 Minor Arcana. The current card system is a mess, regardless if they choose to continue with it.

The point is to allow BLM, SAM, and the other big dps classes to see bigger numbers.

Also to allow for a buff-fantasy, for those healers who prefer the flavour of buffing others over doing their own damage, because it gets better with the healer fantasy.

Mechanically it offers little-to-nothing to the AST themselves.

A buff-fantasy is wonderful, but Astrologian currently does not offer this in any meaningful way. The current design of cards makes it difficult to see any impact the damage from the cards / Divination bring with its short 15s duration. Where is the other utility? While damage is ideal in most situations, the other cards previously had niche uses beyond that when timed correctly.

Regardless of what kind of buffs Astrologian can offer, why is it alright for the job to be so homogenous to White Mage that it boils down to 'WHM with cards'? I feel like the developers changed and removed what set Astrologian apart when they should have focused instead on its glaring similarities to an already existing job.

I agree. I can’t stand AST anymore, despite the fact that it used to be one of my two most played classes (I swapped fairly evenly between SCH and AST). However, there seem to be some people for whom a fantasy that’s only skin deep seems to be the main attractor of a class. Many of those people also seem to be the same ones who think anything other than direct damage is useless.
