It isn't particularly difficult to just not look or post in a thread if it bothers someone.

It's relevant to those interested in seeing the option added. It has served its purpose of getting a response on the matter, but it doesn't mean we can't discuss the topic further whilst we wait to see what decision they ultimately come to.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Yep, this forum is a morning routine for me; something good to grab a cup of coffee, your tablet, and relax with the funnies. This thread has kind of fallen off a bit as a prime funny, but the 'tales from duty finder' is still a good place to go if you are looking for some of that. People have very strong opinions over there.I just like talking to people about it, didn't realise it was that much of an issue for some folks. It's not that deep enough for me to just go ahead and make a discord/join one for it either. Far as I'm concerned this a forum for the game, and general discussion at that - basically the trash can of the forum. People can talk about what they like, within reason. Heck, we got one thread right now talking about lala's upskirting people. Or a guy wanting to RP to the point he's not going to use his job stone. Just stay out the thread if it's bothering you and don't want it bumped, it's what I do. No doing the cardinal sin of complaining about a thread being on page 1, by posting in it - thus bumping it : pepehands :. Anyway it's just one those threads that is just there and I go to talk crap in, I think it's the same for a few folks here.
A male viera retainer?! That's beyond demeaning. He's been tamed. TAMED!

That retainer looks really cute! As for the rest I think moving the discussion to discord would be the least effective way of getting this and other issues resolved, ever. It is best for any issue such as the new races customization, blue mage, genders, etc to remain on the front so that it shows people are still interested in solutions. If someone doesn't like this thread then bumping it themselves to express how much they hate it is pointless, because people will come in and bump it again to counter their argument.
As for twitter it seems that many on there view male Viera favorably seeing as how the bulk of fan art comes from there. I would post a picture of what I see in the tag but we have to be mindful of people's privacy as well as following the terms of service on here. Of course there will be people opposed to it, but it isn't as if this thread and male Viera are routinely picked on there and on tumblr like it is on reddit, where it seems as though it was true that the fan art of the male Viera dancer I found on twitter was reposted there, ridiculed the artist unfairly, and then taken down. I never thought highly of reddit in the first place, but their approach to the subject seems spiteful for no reason other than wanting to make fun of people. At least here people can post whatever art and discuss freely.
I don't understand how a thread placement can be annoying. It is not like you are forced to read it. I do think people will use any excuse to bash the thread though, which I still don't get. If we were going into every other thread like some religious cult trying to persuade people to support it... that would be annoying, but just chatting over male Viera in here, well, I can't see where the issue is?
I think it's because some people actually do this, like be really irritating as heck outside of the thread. I haven't seen it because I haven't searched for it, but I'm sure it happens. Didn't help that when the gender lock happened there was a lot of people screeching about it being sexist and homophobic. Which painted the imagery that those who wanted male Viera want twink bunny bois to ERP with. El Shruggo.I don't understand how a thread placement can be annoying. I just want dark skinned chads that have a resting b*tch face and nice dreads. I'm a simple lass.
i think a male vera would be cool i mean why do games give more love to female characters. its the same with class/weapon lock games the best weapons are female gender locked
@Falcon_xiv just blessed us with this photo, which was received positively by twitter with 169 retweets and 323 likes:
Edit: This is another they made close to the fanfest expressing they felt their dream of making this couple in game was crushed. It didn't receive as much attention back then, but it's still great art.
