well guys if it is such a problem, why not race-specifc emotes? maybe 1 per race.

cats for example could growl, roggadyns roar, tarutarus roll on the ground, something like that you know.

How will roegs tail smash?

Special traits could also be granted via RSE gear which would be much easier to balance.

More than all this though, I would like to see different races use different poses/stances when wielding weapons or casting magic. I think that would give them more personality.

For the sake of balance, I think the minimal dispersion of stats should be the only thing that separates the races.

As others have said, I would not want players to be penalized for aesthetic choices. No matter how much realism it may have, in the interest of fun and balance.

Lalafells make a super insane cute pose that afflicts "Fluffy Lover" to everyone nearby.
Roegadyn that rips his shirt and pants to pose with nude buffness "Too Sexy".
Elezen making a beautiful formation of their own that's absolutely "Fabulous".

Unique in the sense that every race performs every emote in a very unique fashion.

So we all have unique animations (and underwear) based on our race and gender.

no it wont. everyone are still effective, some other race might be marginally better with equal gear but it is nonsense. i think most people choose race by basing on the looks, not statistics. thats wat i do at least, and did for ffxi and wow.

yes it would, and it is why Yoshi said he did not want races to be all that diffrent , other then looks.

Forget it for battle purposes.

But why not having elezens run 5% faster, give lala 5% discount in npc shops, grant miqote a random chance not to be detected by aggressive mobs, hyur have 105 animas, Roe can repair stuff at 1 treshold level lower than the other races etc.

Just examples, point being that it may indeed be fun to make racial distinctions that would not be purely aesthetic, but that would not affect players performances in the game's main content (fighting and crafting)
