I am absolutely not against racial traits and abilities, however they would need to be available to all races. Let's look at an example: let's assume 25 racial traits/abilities exist and each character can only pick 10, regardless of their class and everything. The number of possible combination is big. However, it would require something like a PHYSICAL LEVEL to actually implement this. This was rejected many moons ago.

So, what we have left is racial traits unique to each race. This will not happen, it has been stated countless time that race if aesthetic only. Regardless of racial traits, I pick my race according to its aesthetic, not to be the best elite of all time. However, many hardcore player do. This would lead to segregation and racism in the game, each race having a favoured set of classes and so on. Unless, of course, the traits and abilities would be equally useful with all classes. But then, what would these traits and ability be? You see, not likely to happen.

Our best bet will be to have our guardian deity actually DO something (like granting a trait or an ability) and have the possibility through quest or whatever to change it in-game.

well guys if it is such a problem, why not race-specifc emotes? maybe 1 per race.

cats for example could growl, roggadyns roar, tarutarus roll on the ground, something like that you know.
