Don’t really see the reason to undermine a legitimate orange. Even if it is from a tank/healer. Sure, they parse orange easier than DPS, but an earned orange is an orange at the end of the day.

I only manage orange in respect to healing output, never in terms of DPS.
My group just doesn't play cleanly enough to allow for proper DPS parses.![]()

Just highlighting that parsing orange as a healer doesn't have much to do with the persons skill in question and is more of a group effort, after all, it is not exactly challenging to mash 1 button during healing downtime. So I kinda understand DPS players chuckling about healers boasting.
I mean. An orange is an orange. Unless it’s a pad, there’s very little reason to laugh about it, in my opinion. Coming from a DPS player, if a healer earns a legitimate orange, I’m not going to laugh at them for it. Regardless of how “easy” it may seem. If it was so “easy”, perhaps more healers would hit that orange, wouldn’t you think?Just highlighting that parsing orange as a healer doesn't have much to do with the persons skill in question and is more of a group effort, after all, it is not exactly challenging to mash 1 button during healing downtime. Most oranges are "pads" done from specific parsing runs. Just the nature of the beast really. Bored people that clear content either way and then want to see how much individual members can do if they push it to the extreme.I mean. An orange is an orange. Most healers don't get the chance to. Like me. I could parse orange no problem but due to my groups performance I simply lack the GCDs to do so. I'd reckon that is the case for most healers esp during progression.
Not with the shift from pDPS to rDPS—you can’t get padded oranges with the new FFLogs (and we can thank the introduction of DNC for that). And there were plenty of oranges that weren’t the result of pads. You should look at some of the old speedkills. You aren’t padding in a speedkill.

My theory: If the people advocating for parser bans were suddenly #1 on parses they magically wouldn't have any issues with people parsing anymore ^^
Seeming like they want to "make the community a better place" etc is just fluff to make themselves look more noble. It's personal. Someone presented them with data showing they're not the amazing player they thought they were and they can't allow that, that's the core. it's a selfish motive. Just like people who are advocating against capitalism. They don't care about other poor people, they care about the fact they personally are poor. Make them rich and see how quick they abandon their "righteous" course and start acting just like the people they were advocating aginst. ^^

It seems to me that everything that needed to be said in this thread is contained in the first two posts.
I see this a lot and I tend to disagree honestly. It may apply to orange rankings, yes, but it's easy to get a medium purple even in supbar groups.Just highlighting that parsing orange as a healer doesn't have much to do with the persons skill in question and is more of a group effort, after all, it is not exactly challenging to mash 1 button during healing downtime. Just a matter of fact that most healers don't utilize their healing toolkit properly, as in focussing on oGCDs, mapping their tools over a whole fight and pick the right tool for the situation to minimize overhealing.
DPS chuckling over good healer parses is just... idk dude, your only job and concern is to click your buttons in the right order and delay them/shift them to adjust to the fight at hand. I don't see how this would be particularly more difficult than adjusting to ppl being braindead and getting hit by avoidable damage > loosing GCDs and STILL pushing your dps to the max.![]()
I don't know, man.
