If that is the case I am still against it. I personally care about job immersion having a healer wearing tank gear would ruin the game for me.

I'm glad your needs outweigh everyone else? And having a tank running around in a bikini is ok for your immersion? You realize that there are pictures in here already of heavily armoured healers, right? Even the Deepshadow Healing gear is scalemail/armoured? Allowing people MORE freedom and not LESS is a good thing. Combining the Bonewicca gloves and boots and the Gordian Chest and I have a pretty nicely armoured healer right there. Keeping the classic Artifact Armour Silhouette untouched would be ideal. But seeing as they already recoloure and trade around armour sets as it is? I don't see why in the world people want to limit other players in some kind of 'muh immersion' when you have chocobo suites, frog suites, bikini-wearing tanks and the like already running around. That ship sailed ages ago.

I'm all for this. Not sure why some many think casters shouldn't wear plate or heavy armour as it is really uncommon in other fantasy settings. As for the immersion argument we have Speedos, bikinis, many animal costumes, and much much more that look more out of place and are commonly used.

Not at all. They're wanting to limit options for everyone else for a personal reason. Their personal immersion is a justifiable reason to disallow everyone else from being able to wear what they want to wear. Their immersion is a reason to say no one else should be allowed to wear something. There is zero irony in my saying what I said. Allowing more freedoms that no one HAS to use is in no way a bad thing. You are not required to take part in it, you don't have to, as a caster, wear the heavy gear... but saying that your personal restrictive mindset should limit what everyone else is allowed to wear is definitely eyebrow raising. Also, considering the examples of: bikini wearing tank, frog suit wearing dps, chocobo wearing healer... I question the whole point of 'my immersion is ruined if I see a healer in heavy armour'. The moment they introduced the 'Glamour System' everything was up for grabs.

I dunno. One could argue that since there is evidence that you can already break immersion by wearing armour on healers / bikinis on tanks there is no point to unlocking things since the choice is already there.

With that said my personal opinion is that I'm not wlling to sacrifice future freedom over getting some freedom NOW, but you do you.
