Just want to point out that res weakness hasn't lowered health since 4.0, when it was changed to only lower strength, dexterity, mind and intelligence. The intent is that dying and being ressed would cause a dps reduction but not make you more likely to die (which created a sort of death spiral in some fights).
Your point about poorly timed res acceptance is valid but that's player error (one I've myself made from time to time, yes, but still).
