Um, no. The BF clearly said "Farm". Somebody who has never done a clear joining one of those is looking to be carried. If the leader doesn't want to carry newbie, it's their right to do so.

Was trying to do Titania EX today for my friend to get their weapon as they wanted to switch to MCH as their main, I set up a PF group but I worked all day and forgot to put as Duty Complete, we zone in and there's a new bonus. I sigh and go who has the new bonus? The tank speaks up and says its him I just had enough trap groups in E1S and E2S that day so I didn't wanna deal with a new bonus (note the group was also advertised as a farm not a clear) I didn't wanna teach or anything just wanted to get my friend their weapon.

I back out get ready to kick the PLD and one of the DPS goes "wow you're such a douche LOL I feel for the guy I'm leaving no need to make people feel like crap", I didn't bring anyone down I just said sorry man I'm just gonna have to replace you. Afterwards I get whispers from them saying that I'm a jerk and I should give people the benefit of the doubt, that I'm a bad person IRL, I just told em its my group and I accidentally didn't put Duty Complete, they both continue to spam me until I just blacklisted them.

The group disbanded after that person made that comment like seriously its my PF and it was a farm party not a clear party people really do suck and want free rides sorry I'm not doing that if you have an attitude like that nor do I want to get you your clear to be carried in a farm party.

I don't mind situations like yours so much...I mean, "duty complete" is almost implied by the idea of it being a farm.

What irks me is the people who mark a party as a farm party...then you zone in and see the bonus...and they're all "nah man you should know that b/c I didn't flag duty complete we're also carrying me/my pal Baddy McBaderson!" (name made up, apologies to any who share it)

Had one of those on Inno EX before savage dropped...and sure enough, Baddy mcBaderson (again, name made up) caused a wipe on the orb phase.

Mistakes happen, they admitted it was mistake and they shoulda made their own PF's then afterwards.

Sounds like you've never done extreme trials before. You don't want people who haven't shown they can even clear yet in your farm parties.

Want to know what happened one time i joined a farm party for Innocence Ex we had a nin who was a bonus and a sch who was a bonus neither owned up we do 1 pull and sch played beautifully clearly someone who was just unlucky in killing, want to know what happened with the nin half the time kissing Innocence's feet they died to every mechanic they were alive for(we straight up adapted if we saw nin doing stupid stuff) but due to the rest of group having sufficient dps we kill it and that nin was free to join any farm parties without worry.

They also said it was their very 1st time in there and i was just like:


It is a complete gamble whether said bonus person know what they are doing or not and Awful is not in the wrong and certainly doesn't deserve what they got in tells for not wanting to take that gamble.

In this situation the player was probably trying to get a carry, they could have been an alt, but the way they reacted via pm probably says the opposite. I don't think it's really worth getting mad about it at a party leader, especially in this situation anyway, just find another or make another group. In this scenario they probably got mad because they got caught out while trying to get a carry. Titania unfortunately is one of the worst EX trials I have done with pugs, but they should put in their time with practice or clear groups instead. Allowing these kind of people to get carries just means they will continue to rely on others, and bring down groups.

Normally dont post on this but this happened a few days ago and it's been on my mind for a bit. Its a bit long so sorry bout that.

The TLDR: Went into an In Prog Keeper of the Lake and the WHM was either hte most hardcore deep cover troll or a guy who didnt know whats up and was genuince about it. I couldnt tell.

I am leveling my monk to 80 (or was since I got 80 so woo), and was dungeon queuing. I get put into a dungeon in progress at the same time as a BLM. So both DPS from the previous group quit. Anyways, It's keeper of the Lake and BLM and I dont know whats going on buts already been roughly 20-30 minutes into the dungeon IIRC. In anycase, we both find out that they havent even cleared the very first boss.

We get there, tank pulls almost immediately, I watch the fight unfold and its a wipe. I first think "Ok, tank is a bit green behind the ears." Search info says they have some other classes but nothing to high level, and the gear is alright. Sure enough after talking with the tank, they dont know the fight and are a bit green. Not terrible, just lacking a bit of experience with some stuff. Thats perfectly fine. I coach him on the fight a little bit. We start making progress. Wipe another time or so, but we get it almost done. What I start seeing though is that regardless of the tank, were not getting healed if anything. The Healer, a WHM, keeps getting cleaved by the boss fire aoe, or blown up by canisters. I coach him a bit regarding this too, and we muddle through it. BLM has the patience of a saint this entire time and remains alright with everything. Guy was a champ.

In anycase, we continue on, we start wiping on trash cause while the tank was ok experienced, he was functional and did his best so I had no real complaints. It's just heals werent happening. The WHM would either spam Cure II until out of mana, or not do anything till the tank was pretty much dead. So I concluded the issue was more the WHM than anything else. I talk with the WHM a bit, try to coach them a bit and make things ultra simple : Use Cure I if theyre above 50%, use Cure II if theyre below. If theyre above 90% hp, dont worry about ti at that time. Avoid AoEs, just keep the tank alive as the BLM and I will be fine generally. Simple stuff. We get to teh second boss, clear that after a few wipes by the Healer getting killed by Fire puddles or aoes or what not. But we got through it. I was curoius so I do examine and check their gear. Its a mishmash of gear but its functional. A mix of lvl 45-55 stuff. Mostly grey junk but its not anything that would make or break it. I assume this is their first class so I check their search info.

Here's the kicker: They had all their crafters and gatherers max level, and had 2 level 80 casters. RDM and..I think it was BLM was the other one, not SMN. Nothing else unlocked save this WHM.

Im right annoyed by this point cause this smells like super trolling to the max. I question the guy, he got mad and asked how I could see his class info. The BLM tells him how, and I ask the guy how he can have 2 80s and still perform this poorly with game mechanics. I even asked if he "Inherited" his account. He claims no and that hes never healed before and etc. I say fine cause you dont know. Maybe this is the one in a million dude who doesnt play the PvE content and was carried by a friend or they did inherit the account from a friend or bro/sis and didnt know jack about the game. I mean if he was trolling he did it to the max and never went out of character. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but I voiced my thoughts to the other two in "/say" when the WHM went to the next area ahead of us.

Long story short, we get to Middy, and wipe constantly cause he dies to AoEs about 1/2 minute into the fight every time. I mark the BLM and tell the healer to pretty mcuh just stand exactly where they stand all the time, and just focus on keeping the tank up while I use pots, secondwind, and bloodbath to sustain. BLM just does his magic wizardy and stays alive. We eventually clear with about 10 minutes or so left on the duty. I tell everyone gj, give my comm to the BLM for being a straight up champ and putting up with things, then go pour myself a drink.

That was either the most trolliest WHM ever, or a guy who really didnt know wtf was going on. I cant tell. As I said, if it was a troll, they never dropped out of character once. They followed advice usually, wasnt super geared, didnt give off those comments you know trolls like to make like "woops, my bad! Sorry!!!" as they eat the same thing 20 times. Even at teh end, he didnt become substantially better. He still got clipped by AoEs and died when the boss was down to a few % left. Guy played like he really didnt know what was going on half the time. Was nice about stuff. But damn, that run was a very long one. Tank was also a good guy. A bit green but receptive and nice. I probably stuck it out cause I felt the tank was seriously trying to do their best and make the most of it, and the BLM being a good sport did encourage me to stick it out. That WHM...I dunno. Not a bad guy from what I could see, but damn.

When I first started working on Titania and Innocence EX, if there was only one PF up and I didn't meet what they were asking, I'd send the leader a tell (or join if I couldn't send them a tell and say what I needed to as soon as I got in). I'd just let them know how far I'd been/seen in the fight and ask if it was okay if I stick around.

They might not always be okay with it, but if you make the effort to be upfront and ask, they'll generally be really nice even if they reject you. People respect honesty and really don't appreciate when you try to be deceptive and/or feel entitled to a clear/carry.

I've been at work all day just got home but I'm just gonna comment once on this since I guess I"m a jerk, I didn't screenshot anything because I have nothing to hide I did report them I guess I could show you my report if you want that?

Either way you're just showing to me that you're one of those people that I wouldn't want to group with at the end of the day this is indeed an MMO but its my PF and if I don't want people who haven't cleared that should be it, I'm not a horrible person for kicking someone because they don't meet the requirements of my group. If you have an issue with this then make your own group with your own rules because I don't care and no one cares about your opinion in this thread since the only thing you've shown is you're the jerk, I'm a patient person (heck I even had a guy this weekend who hadn't cleared E1S when it was a weekly clear party) and we cleared so please, don't make assumptions about me.

Did I make a mistake and didn't put Duty Complete? Yes, but should I be attacked personally for all this because I don't want to carry someone when they gave me no reason to keep them? No.

I wouldn't make up anything just to get internet likes so maybe you tried to make this post in a vain attempt to get likes? I dunno either way you do you man and maybe you can go find a nice post on Twitter or Tumblr for people to agree and sympathize with you because it's not here.

I woulda been fine with this but we zoned in and the guy didn't have the weapon, and mostly weathered/430 accessories which is fine but they never made the effort like Kallistra said they just joined and was like "guess they'll carry me" and I don't like that mentality personally, if people were more upfront with saying "hey I never cleared/seen enrage/ I've been trying for awhile to get a clear" then yeah I wouldn't of cared and said sure we can get you a clear.

What? Are you serious? Don't try to speak for everyone because I would have done the same thing and I do sympathize. It gets frustrating when one person is costing 7 other people their time all because they want to be selfish and get carried. Sorry nope. Their are certain pf manners people need to learn and some learn it the hard way. 1. Never join a farm party when you haven't cleared unless you specifically asked and we're told it's OK. 2. Don't join a farm if you have been carried through your clear and still are unsure about what to do for certain mechanics. Get some more practice in first. 3. Don't join a farm if you are hardheaded and don't feel comfortable with the fact that you may have to adjust a bit for other people. Don't know how many times I've seen people fight over the south spot in Titania all because that's the the spot they were "used to".
