MMm Not that I'm singling out WoW but I did play it for many many years and one thing I always noticed was that when you entered a dungeon everyone treated each other like they were a NPC So I mention it since it's more relatable. But as you say it could very well be a social thing. However speaking for myself I will at least acknowledge someone in close proximity with a nod or a " How ya doing" (look up the story of Master Pai Mei and the Shaolin monk LOL) Then again not everyone is like that.
