Is it me or has the community gotten worse...

People lately has gotten worse then normal, players have become more abrasive to others (e.g. using FFlogs or ACT to harass others, false kicking of players from duty finders, and doxing other players on other public platforms) It just shows the lack of respect for other players.
I was talking to some other players I know and I got told from someone that we don't know tell me "Since I didn't clear Savage yet I am considered a trash player....I replied "I am working on clearing it" you would think that would be enough and for them to go away...nope broke out with this tirade saying "I am what makes this community and game garbage" (edited for the forum) and a few other choice words (FYI he bought his account as we found out later on. We reported and blocked him and moved on, but it's still that mentality is what is going to drag this community down even more, bad enough we have players coming from the most toxic MMO ever, don't they realize that there brand of BS isn't gonna fly here...and why don't other people tell them to stfu when they start acting like this... Just want a non trolling answer on this cause this actually made me grind my teeth a little..

Toxicity have always been here. When everytime am expansion arrive, the sub count go high and it attracts all sort of players even the worst kind.

For me the community seems the same as always. There have been some toxic encounters for me but like 3 only.
Overall really friendly people.

There has always been a segment of people in the raiding community that were more toxic compared to the rest of the playerbase.
However I cannot say/experience that it has gotten worse really. If you spend some time setting up your own groups, you can filter out all the unwanted elements and run with people of the same mind.


Like I have a semi-fixed group with our FC, and we are running savage mode, with logs, but don't care about people's numbers as long as we keep killing the boss.

I'mma make this claim now. REAL raiders aren't toxic, it's the wantables who buys their clears thinking it grants them the awesome status, the people who THINK they are awesome, the ones who THINK they are perfect that are toxic. REAL raiders second guess themselves all the time, REAL raiders aren't even worried about other players unless those players are in their raid group, REAL raiders keep to themselves because they are mostly just trying to up their preformance to be the best they can be. It's the fakers and liars that are toxic, that go and shame learning/new players. I'm a noob raider and every raider I've ever talked too, be it in discord, ingame, or on youtube is the same. Just people who want to be the best. What you're seeing is ALOT of fakers who don't work and buy their clears thinking they are the best and shaming everyone else cause they bought their account and feel ashamed they couldn't clear.

I honestly have no idea where people keep seeming to run into them. You are on the same data center as me and whenever I been around in shout (least on balmung) the worst I see is when people go on about how Lalafells are toddlers, if you think they aren't than you need mental help or ya eyes checked, or if you find them cute/attractive or anything than you are a you know what.

Now I haven't been on Mateus much either you got the bad luck of the draw or this was in shout chat where such 'abuse' is pretty standard.

Course you can take the easy and meme route that it is WoW players coming over to FFXIV and bringing their attitude with them.

The community in game is the same, it's just more and more people are using the General forums to share their bad experiences and frustrations solely.

Id have to agree, things have been a lot worse recently. My roulletes have been filled with healers not touching damage buttons, dps not touching aoe, people not bothering to learn their jobs, and getting angry when you try to help. Obviously my personal experience is clearly indicative of the entire game

Ive noticed thats mostly, if not always for the Highest endgame Content. I only run into such people in Savage Endgame.
Otherwise, Ive never been part of a Better community.

Of course there are bad eggs here and there, but nothing in life is ever without its flaws, nor is it ever perfect

it just you. yesterday i had a warrior tell me to pay attention in titania ex when he just randomly decided to swap from puck to the other one because he had a vuln stack. i told him to use his words since i am not psychic, then he started going off on how i didnt use heart of light much. dude almost caused a wipe by switching sides without saying anything. then has the balls to try and blame me. you just meet stupid people once and a while, simple as that.
