So... No old hairstyles for Viera according to Q&A

In today live letter was asked for new hairstyles for Viera and Hrothgar:

Q: Are there plans to add more hairstyles for Viera and Hrothgar?

A: Of course we'll continue to add new hairstyles, so please look forward to future patches. It still has to be race-specific so it won't match the pace of the other races, but there will be more hairstyles added

this is extremely dissapointing. Idk who was in charge of the new races, but the decisions of genderlock combined with the halves of the races we got being extremely limited makes me hope that whoever said this to happen isnt in charge of a future expansion feature ever again

they said many many times that this was discussed with the team constantly. it is a fairy tale to believe that only 1 person made the decision between X amount of work and 4(X) amount of work.

they wont because then itd be obvious how little care and attention they put into male hrotgar and how basically from what it seems 99% of their resources and screen time is for female viera. They legit put female viera in a freacking milkshake. We cant go anywhere without seeing them. Its quite ridicolous at this point how bad they try and stuff female viera down our throats if Im honest, and I do like them, I have just grown sooooooo tired of seeing them

Since the beggining Viera's and Hrotghar's hairstyles are different from the other races (ears and size, and whatever more to justify that). So, yes, they WILL do more hairstyles for them both, but in a different pace compared to the other races 'cause they are specific for them. So, all we need to do is wait for the EXCLUSIVE new hairstyles for those two races from new paches to come :3

I think the point wasn't EXCLUSIVE new hairstyles. The issue here is that people are worried about their over the years unlocked hairstyles and mogstation hairstyles. Will they be added? That is the question. If not, why? And will there be a warning message on the character creation screen for these 2 races to warn new and existing players that if you choose/fantasia to these races certain hairstyles will not be available including previously unlocked and purchased from mogstation.
Another thing is the current races receive 1 or 2 new hairstyles per patch so if viera/hrothgar will not get the same pace as the "normal" ones that means ONLY viera/hrothgar will get new hairstyles in odd number patches of that concept which brings up to another question why bother creating these 2 new races in the first place then, if some of the existing feature that are currently in placed are excluded just for these 2 limited races.

Yep, i see all that.
But they annouced that before releasing 5.0: "they will have only exclusive hairstyles". So, all that you guys are concerning about here would meant to be known beforehand. I know this is sad and not everyone knew that from the start, but, yes. They told us about it before introducing those races.

I would love if they did things differently, but I like to think that they have tried to do as we wanted first before deciding to insert them as they are now. Maybe some limitation on the engine, bug with Viera's ears design, schedule limitations, sarcastic humor around the team... dunno for sure. '-'

Doesn't this contradict another interview that said Viera will get some of the unlockable hairstyles?
If this is the case, then this is the nail in the coffin for Viera. I noticed more and more people switching back to the other races. I miss my unlocked hairstyles and headgear options too much, so I might be switching back if that's the case. I worked too hard for my unlockable hairstyles to just have them disregarded.
