So... No old hairstyles for Viera according to Q&A

They really should be able to add all the shared existing hairstyles to Viera. The ears on Miqote mesh weird on some hair styles but they still get them anyway. Sounds like they just don't think its a high priority. :/

they wont because then itd be obvious how little care and attention they put into male hrotgar and how basically from what it seems 99% of their resources and screen time is for female viera. They legit put female viera in a freacking milkshake. We cant go anywhere without seeing them. Its quite ridicolous at this point how bad they try and stuff female viera down our throats if Im honest, and I do like them, I have just grown sooooooo tired of seeing them

I can see it honestly, you try adding those hairs onto a unique head like that and it's not going to look exactly like the hairs you unlocked - so people are just going to complain because their unlocked hairs on this race don't look the same as the unlocked hairs on 'insert old race you were using it on'. Lighting hair would look like crap on Viera. The PvP hair and HoH hair would look like an absolute joke on Hrothgar without it being ridiculously edited. Same goes for the 'Snow' hair.

Viera’s only issue is the parting of the hair or any optional braids/clips possibly clashing with some of the ear base’s fluff, but that already happens with some of their unique hairstyles. The only 3 optional hair styles that wouldn't work out would be the lightning one (horribly pixeled/modeled), the afro (would eat the ears), the pyros hairstyle (braid would get cut off by the ears).

Of the existing free hairs, the sideshaved hair ladies get + the long sideshaved mullet would probably look bad, but thats all I can think of that'd be bad-bad? Even the infamous meatball style would work on them assuming they put the meatballs on the sides like miqos lol.

Of cash shop hairs, their earfluff might cover a tiny bit of the topmost braid on minfilia's hair, but would be completely fine with aymeric/yshtola.

I really don't understand why for Viera is so hard. I get Hrotghar being their hair is tied to the face model, but Viera is really just a pair of ears thrown on top of a model. It should work with most hair with little issue.

I don't understand this either. 90 percent of the unlockable hairstyles would like fine on Viera with little to no clipping with the ears

They put plenty of care and attention into Hrothgar. I don't know what you're on about. Hrothgar have turned out amazing and they were all over the First.

The decision to lock their hairs to their faces and their limited customization at the aesthetician makes me think otherwise. I've held off on turning one of my characters back into Roegadyn to see if in patch 5.1 they get a new hairstyle, but if I had to look back I would have only fantasiaed my Viera character at launch.

Not really. Their heads are abit longer if you look at them from the side. That'll break the old hairs if 3D modeling I took says anything. It wouldn't work cause everyone else's head doesn't stretch out like that. Viera's clearly does. That is the bigger issue I think. Either way they are getting their own hairs so just have to wait for them.

You know that anything goes for using Hrothgar to garner simpathy for Viera in general, while underhandedly attacking it at the same time for "stealing" Male Viera's spot.

It is really disappointing... I couldn't even try the new hairstyle that I got from Gold Saucer. They both were released at the same time, even so Viera couldn't wear it...
All the time I spent trying to farm the hairs in Eureka... *sigh* I love Viera and I don't want to switch back ATM, but it's sad...

this is extremely dissapointing. Idk who was in charge of the new races, but the decisions of genderlock combined with the halves of the races we got being extremely limited makes me hope that whoever said this to happen isnt in charge of a future expansion feature ever again

they said many many times that this was discussed with the team constantly. it is a fairy tale to believe that only 1 person made the decision between X amount of work and 4(X) amount of work.
