Really?I think that entire mechanic is really the best work they've done in personifying the trust NPCs. Every single one deals with that mechanic differently. I just don't love that they cheat in ways I can't.... like how Thancred can use his gap closer to get across, but I fall into the pit if I try to do that.
Learning Alphinaud is afraid of heights was a good character moment.
Damn, I was going to use gap closers when I got there...
That would add up with them being mages trying to get casts completed before the mechanic goes off. I've read that Alisaie is particularly bad with this.
They do stack - but they stack in the middle, rather than wherever the person with the stack marker is currently standing. So you just have to learn to go to the middle as well, then the mechanic is fine and the party is reliable.
Haha, yes. Poor Alphinaud and his ever-growing list of fears...I think that entire mechanic is really the best work they've done in personifying the trust NPCs. About the gap closer thing though, has anyone tried just manually jumping across the narrow point? Gap closers move to the edge of the enemy's target circle, I think, and that one might go over the edge of the platform.

So has anyone trolled the AI? I attempted to get Urianger killed by Tesleen when she marked everyone. I was marked 1 and Urianger was marked 2 so I stood behind him. He actually adjusted to try to get out of the way but I'm tenacious. The man actually survived getting bowled over by Tesleen three times.
I honestly think them not using aoe is SE's passive-aggressive way of showing players that don't aoe how long dungeons take when nobody does.
I've personally found the 2nd boss in Dohn Mheg to be troublesome for trusts especially as a dps. The trust partners seem to have problems escaping the cages when spawned and if I'm not able to break them free we wipe. I'm glad my trust is now 75 and we can do The Qitana Ravel.
I'm really happy they adjusted the experience gained given i run the trust only once a day given I'm doing too many other things to focus strictly on leveling them.
I murdered Alphinaud this way. But, well, I say murder, but it was more suicide. I just wanted to make Tesleen fly across the entire room. It was Alphinaud who decided to stand between me and the next to be hit. And it was Alphinaud who decided not to heal himself past 50%. So, yknow...So has anyone trolled the AI? I think low dps for nearly invincible and perfect at mechanics plus no queue times is a pretty fair trade-off
Pretty sure SE could make them play hardcore if they wanted to but that would make real parties undesirable
Y’shtola seems to do decent numbers when I dance with her.
Ive gotten the tank trust killed when dps’ing on mch a few weeks back.So has anyone trolled the AI? I attempted to get Urianger killed by Tesleen when she marked everyone. I decided he was pulling too trashy like a noob so I went and mass pulled a bunch for him and sprinted back, he aoe pulled hate and died after a few moments lol.
He did not get raised, simply stayed dead laying there until I died next after running away for a bit. I thought it might count his death as my death and reset, but nothing happened til i died too, so sadly it was sort of uneventful. I was hoping alphin would raise him at least
Dohn Mheg is definitely the dungeon my Trust NPCs run into the most issues with. As I said before, the water pillars seem to more likely dunk Y'shtola and Alisaie. Albeit Alisaie is generally guilty of ignoring the fire when she zips in for her melee combo. I find it strange she doesn't use Displacement and happily sits beside me while I am tanking. I guess she trusts my placement that much? The 2nd boss, I tend to just wait for the NPCs to pick a tether before I take one. They always seem leave the back beam for tanks though. When the roots come, I purposely get close to 1 or 2 of them to AoE them out quicker. There's always 1 NPC who doesn't get themselves out if you don't AoE it . . . The final boss tends to have 1 or 2 NPCs get clobbered by the tentacle slam. They avoid the projected circles, but ignore the tentacles.
Holminster Switch I only saw Urianger die when the final boss was doing his thrashing mechanic. There was one odd time Alphinaud and Alisaie died together because they were by a wall and the trash aimed both AoEs at them. That's probably more of a general issue with any NPC by the wall trying to run into it.
Malikah's Well I have just seen Alphinaud have a few troubles so far. He's the only one I noticed who gets creamed by the 2nd boss' water jets and the final boss' Heretic Forks. It's not often, but he gets hit hard when it does occur. Alisaie usually rezzes him immediately the first time, but she takes maybe a minute to do a second one. Yeah . . . right in the nick of time when I was around 5% HP as Dark Knight . . . Y'shtola stands in the occasional Heretic Fork, but learns her lesson afterwards. I will see soon enough if Thancred, Urianger and Ryne will have similar issues or not.
Qitana Ravel I only notice they don't bother to get out of the purple beams the Ronkan Mage casts from the wall. They execute most of the other mechanics pretty good for this dungeon. It's just on the final boss, they fussily want you to place the poison puddle on the right side. I placed it in the left side, but watched them still stubbornly go there to get blown through the puddle . . . They sometimes fail at properly running away from "Hound of the Heaven" or so, but that's because the NPCs don't orient themselves like players do. They still try to run.
I will have to re-assess for Mt. Gulg and Amaurot. Amaurot is probably not necessary to know unless you want no competition for materia and gear for desynthing I guess.
