    The best part is that they did this for the raiders since you "fished for balance anyway" and even they are like:

    "no, lol"



    Less than 12%, GG Square Enix.

    So, is this new system even better than before? a lucky AST could keep having a AoE damage buff every min (either with Arrow / Balance / Spear)and then add lucky draws from Sleeve Draw, otherwise even they should be pissed.

    A lot forget the fact that balance was that good because "useless cards" like ewer, spire and bole existed to balance (pun intended) itself and not just that but to complement the nuance RR system.

    Not just give us back our cards, give us back our buff management from Time Dilatation and Celestial Opposition.

    Sure it was powerful before but like every single developer likes to say, you shouldn't nerf, instead buff the others around it.

    I just want to add that not every raider was fishing only for balance (even in speedkill).
    I did every content in this game, progress and speedkill, and AST sure was aiming for balance, but he needed to deal with what he got, and do his best with their cards depending on several factors.
    Every fight was different because of the randomness of the draw, and I was not bored to do the same fight again and again because of it.
    For me, this impredictibility was what separated AST from every other job in this game and it need to come back with the old cards system.

    Why even have a picture of the signs when they don't connect to lore anyways. Just have a picture of the 3 seals we are fishing for instead of the 6 signs. That way it is more simple, easy, homogenized, and intuitive. That way it's easier to level to 80 and finally switch class.
    And if they are going that route anyways just delete the AST class itself, no one's playing it for dungeons or endgame anyways.

    Another little QoL I'd like added - just like how card icons are shown on the party, it'd be nice if Divination also had an icon, to know when to be close enough to get the buff...or simply extend the range. A friend was raging last night in Alliance roulette about how 2-3 people were always out of range. It'd also help when there are 2 AST in the party so they know to avoid overlapping.

    This is so spot on it actually hurts. The more I play Astro the less I see Bole, Ewer or Arrow. I just see Moon, Sun or Blue circle (or~ blue or purple).

    This is compounded even further when cards like Bole (A TREE) are for ranged dps, while LITERALLY ARROW is for melee. SE, w-what are you doing?! <o>

    This is SQEX we're talking about. They've done this kind of wonky naming for a good while now - lest you forget the mess that is...
    • Aeolian Edge, where "Aeolian" or "Eolian" refers to things related to Aeolus, the Greek God of wind, yet does not extend Huton - the wind-based haste buff.
    • Armor Crush, which seems to imply a strong attack, not being the strongest strike or dealing damage over time.
    • Shadow Fang, which seems to imply a supernatural element or special attack, not dealing damage over time or being the strongest strike.
    The card system is homogenized because SQEX either lacks the people or the engine framework to do interesting things. I'm currently leaning more towards the former since we've definitely seen bosses make use of some tricky stuff. So it doesn't come as a surprise that the dev team just went "fugg it" and painted everything over with the +dmg% brush. It saves them a lot of headache trying to balance things.

    Even better than your example is the amount of clears for E4S. With WHM having 326, SCH 336 and AST just 22. Guess thats balanced. I can already see 5.1 or 5.2 being an absurd emergency patch that buffs ASTs card potency back to 20% so that people start picking it up again. Then, around 5.4 they will announce that there is no new healer in 6.0 because the current ones need to balanced. :/

    It certainly seems like 5.X will repeat 3.X for healers >_>

    Ast 3.0 undertuned ->3.08 healing buffed -> 3.2 cards buffed to be reasonably balanced to other healers (currently the most balanced we ever got as healers) -> 3.4 unasked overbuffs that break the balance literally -> 4.X we not adding new healer because we need to balance existing 3.

    History is repeating just hope it stops at a sweet spot this time (it won't but here is hoping).
