You're not seeing the wood from the trees here though: it's because we're the Warrior of Light that makes classes and Jobs so powerful - we use shortcuts (such as the Soul Crystal) to master abilities that normal people would take a lifetime to learn, and even adapt Jobs and classes for our own use, like the original Jobs piggybacking on existing Disciplines such as learning White Magic while still practicising Conjury, or adapting the legally restricted musketry techniques of Limsa Lominsan MSKs with magitek technology to create MCH. Hells, we even basically take something that is outright stated as being a scam and making it an actual functional Job (BLU).
Really, it's not the actual class or Job we use that makes us who we are, it's ourselves that empowers that chosen class or Job.

Yes I know, and I worded that comment poorly, but what I meant was; would the warrior of light be more powerful as a BLM or a MNK?
Again, it's not what the class/Job is but that you make it powerful. The game's story seems to show all Jobs and classes as being capable of taking down Primals, monsters and superpowered entities, even WHMs, and turning mundane utility like Conjury into devastating power.
Although on that point I find the image of a SCH hitting the likes of Zenos over the head with a book while Selene claws his face amusing.![]()
Well, currently id say Dark Knight all other jobs got their ass kicked by a single sin eater yet the dark knight beat it easily.
I feel like Astrologian could have the most potential, but isn't necessarily presented that way. They are able to manipulate fate/reality through cosmic power.
Only in the trailer - which I have to point out was misleading or outright making things up that never happened for prettymuch every event they showed in it.
AST seems odd against the rest of the plot - even more so now as I play it on an alt post-Shadowbringers.
"Our lives were written in the stars long before we trod upon this land" says Leveva, but how does that still work when we have literally changed our fate?
