I'm assuming you have suggestions on what these "steps to prevent this" are? If not, please refrain from speaking like it's a super easy task to prevent DDoS, because it's not. As soon as you get 1 regulated, 6 more can come down the pipeline from new sources. In theory, anyone dedicated enough can keep a service down with DDoS indefinitely.

Where in my post did I say or in-apply that it would be super easy? Taking steps normally means just that, taking steps each time to build a defense. But whatever, keep on putting words where they weren't applied.I'm assuming you have suggestions on what these "steps to prevent this" are? If you wanna defend SE and it 4 to 5 DDoS in a month span, knock yourself out. To each their own. Personally, if companies like Blizzard rarely get DDoS attacked (and they deserve it right now with BFA), then there no excuse for SE other then we can keep hiding behind the excuse that it an small indie company.

I think alot of it is almost everything is not secure .Where in my post did I say or in-apply that it would be super easy? Taking steps normally means just that, taking steps each time to build a defense. But whatever, keep on putting words where they weren't applied.

Easier said than done. There's no magical solution to ddoss attacks. Every site on the internet can be be taken down with it. There's not a lot of protection against it. Ddoss is similar to botting in the sense that any protective measure you design, people can circumvent it by simply changing some lines of code to alter its pattern.

Again, I'm not in-applying that a DDoS attack can be stopped completely, but there are measures that can be taken to lessen the attacks. If there weren't, how is Blizzard keeping them at bay most times? Just a simple thought.Easier said than done. There's no magical solution to ddoss attacks. But on this note, it looks like it not a DDoS attack after all.

Our investigation with ISPs revealed that these technical difficulties are being caused by a DDoS attack.
The announcement has been updated to reflect this and the time that the technical difficulties began.
