I might not be doing the math right but isnt astro shields still much more potent then scholars almost 100% of the time? What even is scholar shields? Why don't we just turn astro into the perminate shield class and make scholars straight heals.

On the surface, it does kinda look like that.
Adlo: 375 potency shield
Succor: 225 AoE

A. Benefic: 500
A. Helios: 250 AoE

Plus AST has Celestial Opposition for another 250 potency AoE shield.
(Intersection would be used in isolation in Diurnal so can't really be added to the list)

However, Scholar can do a lot more with its Shields via Tactics, spreading that Adlo to all party members, converting them into pure healing, plus it can garrantee a double shield for Adlo making it a 750 potency shield.
Then there's Excog, which is a sort of pseudo shield with a whopping 800 potency.
