It feels alot squishier compared to other tanks yes, can't pull as much without the healer slamming every cd.

You're doing something wrong, DRK can negate 25% of its max HP every 15s for basically no cost since you're refunded with the 3k mp you would use anyway on your oGCDs. So against bosses you always have TBN up to use alongside with another CD. Against pack you just have to time your CDs in between 2 TBN and keep abyssal drain to get a nice heal when you get low and you should not be in any danger unless the healer fell asleep.
DRK is not in a bad spot, it could use a slight dps bump but its not so far behind that you'd go out of your way to take another tank instead.
The gameplay is just not very thrilling.
Yeah.. I'm not feeling this either and I have mained DRK as my main tank since ShB. They are probably one of the easiest to actually tank with, I think gunbreaker is better though. By no means a "squishy" tank.
Isn't it agreed that WAR is the worst tank right now?![]()
That's because mobs hit WAY harder and the game is focused more on healers having to actually heal rather than just being "green dps". Protect I think was like 2-3% overall damage reduction, which is pretty much a tinfoil hat.
I think Dark Knight feels pretty good right now. While it's not perfect, no job is, and I'd argue that anyone thinking Dark Knight is the squishiest tank either isn't playing it properly or only has experience with people who aren't playing it properly.
Meanwhile, I'm still not convinced Gunbreaker is a real tank.
I though protect was a bit of a placebo too, but after seeing a performance with a friend the other day in Stone Vigil, I'm not so sure. Though the parry/block changes may have more to do with it. But I do believe every little bit adds up.That's because mobs hit WAY harder and the game is focused more on healers having to actually heal rather than just being "green dps". I'm not complaining though. Tanks did feel too beefy before.
Or people who disagree with this statement does not play other tanks job, because DRK is objectively the squishest tank in the roaster. And by saying this, i am saying its performance in the hardest benchmarks which are dungeon pulls.
Any tank is able to tank raids and bosses effectively, the difference between tank jobs is getting more visible if you put each one in front of large stack of enemies who are able to do much more damage than any raid boss could do.
In this case, DRK besides having TBN and shadow wall and abyssal drain heal has nothing else to mitigate damage, an i am not counting 2 obvious tank roles CD's because these are not enough.
If gunbreaker is not a tank, then DRK is a weakest dps in there, because GNB has 4 cooldowns on his own to mitigate damage + more useful superbolide over nearly useless living death.
DRK lost his superior sustain he used to have in stormblood and now he is left with 2 abilities to play dungeons with, its pathetic and painful to play in dungeons. I have no motivation to lvl my drk, the difference in deffensives between each tank job is huge.
Stromblood DRK and Warrior want to have a word with you.![]()
My healers were able to dps when i was doing my rotation, it was this powerful.
