In regards to the post credit scenes.

I really hope they're not going to overlook the fact that the Garleans have been shown to on multiple occasions to have security cameras for the sake of allowing Zenos to blame what happened to Varis on Gaius and Estinien.

Having him go full rogue and forfeit the support of the Empire (Aside from maybe a few staunch loyalists in his personal army) would be more interesting then him simply opting to use it as a tool IMO.

From how things went....

Zeno is not going to take the throne but wonder off so he can find a way to consume both Zodiark and Hydealyn got his ultmate hunt he has planned for the Grand Finale.

Most likelt the Throne will be elft empty again and 6.0 may end up being another Civil War in Garlean Empire but this time WoL and the Alliance will be directly involved in Garlemald.

As for when Zeno may consume the Zodiark and Hydealyn, I can only guess it may be during the 6.0 FInale where we may have finally defeated Zodiark with hydealyn weakened due to supporting WoL in the battle against Zodiark thus they get consumed by Zeno due to how weak they become. After that probably in 6.3 Zodiark and Hydealyn both die with Zenos defeat because both of them agree the only way to guarantee a future for the world is to defeat Zeno by sacrificing themselves so Zeno's very soul is completely destroyed.

and thus we enter a new world without Zodiark and Hydaelyn with some unknown effect the world may face with both Zodiark and Hydaelyn gone such as all remaining shards fuse together to create a New World that consist of all lands from the Shards and Source since the Battle against Zeno was so Epic it was equal to that of a Grand Calamity thus it resulted in all shards returning to the Source all at once to Create this New World but all memories of Zodiark, Ascians, Hydaelyn, and Zodiark are wiped clean from the memories of this world.

Of course...

The sad part of this will be how WoL deals with all memories of him or herself wiped from the New World thus giving us the feeling of what the Ascians felt when the world got Sundered into the 13 shards through 6.4 to 6.5 MSQ.

If Varis did not die at once, he could have named a successor (maybe even Gaius who was immediately available) to avoid another succession war, since he cares about Garlemald's future.

The scene ended with Gaius charging at someone that could probably cut through Heirsbane and kill him without breaking a sweat. If anything I expect the aftermath will be Estinen tacking Gaius and running the hell out of there while Varis continues to bleed out on the ground.
