Is buying a mount from a cash shop considered evil now? I think you need to take a look at things in your life if that's considered evil.
The cash shop directly helps the devs that's a fact, just look at how shb has done? And look at eso, sure it's pay to play, but it adds hella items to it's shop regularly, sells mini dlcs that are dungeons, sells houses, sells consumables, sells a crap ton of mounts and you can only buy vanilla horses with actual in-game gold, they still charge a lot for a chapter/expansion, and finally they have everyones favorite loot boxes!
You wanna see a bad cash shop there it is. Mogstation doesn't provide even half of that and rarely adds much if they do. It may look big atm, but they have added onto it since arr so ofc it looks like a lot.

the issue is that eso plain sucks. eso stopped being good after orsinium, imperical city and when cash shop went out of control and that players used the cash shop to sell crowns for golds. The cash shop directly helps the devs that's a fact, just look at how shb has done? trade golds, in game currency, to buy crowns.... crowns buy you cash shop items. get it?
eso is a grave yard that relies on cash shop to stay alive. because the game is broken and has nothing to offers. its by far the worst example you could have used to add weight to this debate
these mogstation threads are always a mess
This should be required viewing for anyone looking to defend microtransaction monetization practices because they're "purely optional" and "companies need to make money."

If for some reason you're not able to handle his crass presentation, this will serve as well and still covers the same scummy business practices behind mtx.

This is what these corporations who exist to make money think of you. You are a psychological problem to solve to extract maximum money from your wallet.
It tickles me that these people get so bent out of shape over something that literally has no impact on them. Ever. This should be required viewing for anyone looking to defend microtransaction monetization practices because they're "purely optional" and "companies need to make money."

I mean, I get it. But I don't really see such business practices here. We don't have loot boxes or boosters (like increased gil gain, more exp per kill, etc), which is what most of this refers to. Would I love being able to obtain everything in game? Of course. But a mount or outfit here and there isn't that big of a deal. In the mobile gaming industry, they thrive off of people who want things now, and will pay whatever they can to get them as fast as possible. That is where this issue you've brought up is the most prevalent. This should be required viewing for anyone looking to defend microtransaction monetization practices because they're "purely optional" and "companies need to make money."

Wait wait wait, I agree it sucks as I tried to get into it 5 times but the combat and shop turn me off. But you can use crowns for gold now in eso?the issue is that eso plain sucks. eso stopped being good after orsinium, imperical city and when cash shop went out of control and that players used the cash shop to sell crowns for golds.

Are you really so ignorant to post something that has literally nothing to do with the Mog Station? Have you even watched those videos? They are speaking of predatory micro transactions and loot boxes. Neither of which you will find in the Mog Station. This should be required viewing for anyone looking to defend microtransaction monetization practices because they're "purely optional" and "companies need to make money."

Predatory meaning, they offer items that grant you the chance to progress or you're stuck, or a lottery type system to grant you an item, with a low percentage of getting anything good.
Holy moly that is just plain stupidity on your part to even link such things as if they've any correlation to the Mog Station. Ya, tell me how that decorative outfit for your glamour or how a mount breaks the game into your favor. Fantasia are actually wanted by others as well.
But wait, you'll bring up the job skip! That bypasses the content! Yes and no, it's mostly for those leveling jobs or having issues with it, honestly just a time saver and not much of one. And leveling said job doesn't give you any impact greater then the player who spent the few hours to level it instead.
