Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone are still in game if you really like them, and their functions have been passed on to other actions. Raw Intuition is more useable than Inner Beast ever was, in that it's oGCD, does not incur a dps or resource loss to use, and does not have a stance limitation. Also, do you really think that you were going to keep both Steel Cyclone's self-healing and Nascent Flash (which is an even bigger self-heal)?

I think that when the job stopped completely overpowering the other tank jobs, people started to realise that the core gameplay is actually pretty lacklustre. But the solution is actually the opposite of demanding power buffs. What you need is more challenging and engaging gameplay. Effort to match reward.

Except nobody asked for nascent flash. Convalescence was a role action, true, but there were times when it was beneficial to use outside of Thrill. Raw Intuition was guaranteed parry because the only time you used it was with awareness. Also, IB and SC are no longer fundamentally in the game. The skills that supposedly replaced them don't even function the same way. Not sure where you're basing your facts off of. Everything you post is nothing but anti-WAR bs. Please, show us on the doll where the bad WAR touched you, sweetie...

Because being in Tank Stance was always a DPS loss and you're bad tank if decided to be in tank stance. Good times.

I do like we got to keep Convalescence in a way. I always saw Thrill of Battle to be kinda weak so having it get something was at the very least okay.

Also while Nascent Flash is an even bigger heal, which should you be using? It or Raw Intuition? That and most WARs agree that its pretty clunky to use to the point we basically have to use a Macro for it. I just got it myself and I'm already looking for a macro. It might be a good strong skill but usability is part of the equation.

Skills that everybody on these forum would laugh at you for ever using in relevant content...We bring our own misfortune.

Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.

But they were great skills. Steel Cyclone made dungeons much much much easier on your healer. Playing WAR without it is just suffering at anything lower than 76. Inner Beast wasn't an amazing skill but for things such as O10s Midgardsomr having you take all the tank busters or even getting too much vuln. Invaluable.

I don't know what are those people saying about "WAR is bad" etc. For me WAR as it is now is SOLID and more than playable. A WAY better than DRK and even better than PLD. And I've mained PLD and DRK for a while, mates, so that says something. The JOB now has godd mitigation options, bit weaker (than before) selfsustaining (I personaly think that Nascent Flash should be allowed to apply to yourslef only without the mitigation) and a LOT OF DAMAGE.gif for the tank role. So when anyone asking for buffs to the job it's either the man with a lot of BIAS towards the job or just blind.
My personal tank preferance for any instance now is: WAR>GNB>PLD>DRK.

How a skill is properly used and how it's perceived by the community are too different thing. If you look at WAR threads after HW, you'd be quick to think that WAR is only supposed to be a Fell Cleave machine...which is roughly what it became, and now with more FellER Cleave.

Yes the first part is sadly true and lead to some changes, that i personally don't like. To be fair i like the existence of niche skills, for example i didn't mind the old debuff removal shake it of, it's introduction was timed a bit strange with them cutting back on removable debuffs, thanks to esuna being a role skill. Bonus points for the change being the only real balance problem at the end of SB (with the whole LB generation through shields thing). Just the possibility to pop into defiance and use equilibrium and IB to cover a tough spot during progress was a nice thing to have, not everything has to have a it's ultimate use in killing the boss faster to merit it's existence. Sadly this doesn't seem to align with the general opinion.

This brings me nicely to my opinion of the state of the warrior class. I think the war is in a pretty good state, it's a really great progress tank ( PLD only wins this because of how powerful clemency is). Equilibrium, nascent flash and thrill of battle are great to make up for mistakes or to keep you alive for times when the healers are occupied elsewhere. Burst is strong and reliable, so you can better help pushing phases and with dps checks your grp is struggling with. holmgang is still the shortest cd invulnerability it's not as problematic as LD (which, with the healer changes is even more of a black hole now) . Onslaught is still slightly more flexible than the other gap closers, but i would welcome some small buffs like 20 potency more or, which i would massively prefer, having it reduce infuriates cd by 1 second (to reduce the danger of unsyncing infuriate charges from raidbuffs by overusing it). War has the best CD suite against physical TBs and isn't that much weaker against magicals. Shake it off is universal in dmg and can, although i don't think it's worth it in most cases, mitigate more dmg than any other tank raid cd. The only thing were war might be lacking is sustained dps ,and with the tanks being that close in this regard, it's not really a problem.

Simple, because WAR has the lowest possible DPS cieling of all the tank jobs, has the lowest APM of all the tank jobs, benifits the least from most of the party wide buffs with basically no positive interactions with any job anymore, has the worst OT mitigation of all the tanks. Its not BIAS its hard facts baised off of numbers. Its mitigation is also now the shortest of all the jobs in terms of duration now as well.
