They're selling 24 houses as a packaged deal....
How is this fair to anyone that one person can manipulate the system this horribly? I've been playing 3 years and my fc still has no housing. This is just really upsetting and I wish square would at least look into this, because people like this are the reason the rest of us can't have housing....

There are only so few people that are able to achieve that many houses, so no this is not why the rest of you can't have housing. There are other reasons such as cost being too low and affordable to the general mass and inactive players being sure to log in when their demolition emails come in to prevent it on the last day.

you know i like the math hammer espacialy if people are bad at it 20 houses on one server equals routhly 0,5%(0,43%) not 0,005% of those 4320 Houses you only missed it by a potency of 100 good job, say there are 20 people that avarge at 10 houses on a server and you get 5%(4,3%) owned by 20 people

You are absolutely correct. I completely just jumped right to listing the number as it was before turning it back into a percent.

So 0.5% of the houses on a single server, and 0.007% of the houses across all the servers. Thank you for making that very much needed correction.

Sadly we are still less than 1% total in both situations. I don't think it has really changed the argument much, but I certainly bow my head down to your proper corrections!

Edit: I have updated my signature and the graphic in the original post and have properly credited you! Thank you fellow housing colleague! I have given you a hearty like

If housing was advertised in a game and I could not get it, I'd simply cancel and play another game. Hit them where the money is and perhaps they will make changes because obviously complaining doesn't work.

Glad i could help. then again ~.5% for one person per server is still kind of bad not the crown of the problem but as posted before that if there is only one person has those numbers if you have more people equaling out to the numbers i used before the problems gets worse even faster lets go with an additional 9 people owning an average of 2,22 houses each then 10 players own 1% of the housing by that numbers added up only 1000 people could hypotheticaly own an average of 4,32 houses per char (granted that would asume there is one person owning 20 houses every 10 house owners but the wonders of math allow that assumtion even if its not realistic gladly) now take the hypothetical 4320 people that could own a house and compare it to those 1000 thats nearly a quater or 23% of the possible players able to own a house and i this case a lower percentage is worse.

Also the problems are with how many people are acctually on a server. can´t find any absolutly correct numbers but ff14censuse counts ~321k active characters on NA servers as of july 2019 if we asume 1char per player divided by 24 realms thats routhly 13k active players per realm so while thereticaly around a third(~32,3%) could own a house given the hypothetical numbers(further up) less then a tenth(around 7,5%) are able to own a house

Well at least it is 100% better than having you camping at the front gate and clicking god know how long and till some lucky one walk by and turn your days effort into nothing

Instead of further RNG schemes and other nonsensical crap, they need to use the money we give them each month, upgrade their potato servers and release more wards already.
I am saying this as s/o that owns a medium house for quite some time now.

    Won't. Fix. The issue.
If everyone could get a house, then I'm sure plenty of other systems (such as Gil-sinks and certain reddits) would go completely unused. Not to mention that, even if their servers were 'potato' as you so put it. Upgrading wards and making more districts will only cap the hardware upgrade again. Then they'd upgrade, only for it to cap again. Nobody is entitled to a House. You are entitled to a CHANCE. Nothing more.

Not to mention that, if everyone could get a house.. Then what purpose would they serve? They're no longer showing ones wealth if everyone can get them. They're no longer being a status symbol or proof that your personal skills / FC capabilities are worthy of note.

They need to remain a Finite Resource, purely so there is a Demand for them.

Please turn off the relocating option for current house owners. If they want a more desirable spot, they should have to stand at the Placard and click it like an idiot like the rest of us and forfeit their other house. It is insane how much time we can stand at a plot trying to buy only to have them move in and restart the timer somewhere else. An insanely stupid decision.

But it put a massive delay in how long it takes for us to get a real fix for the situation because they've wasted time on something that should only be needed temporarily instead of spending that time on the real problem - the lack of housing to meet demand.
