So I have been thinking what if in 5.X

The WoL begins having Echo visions of his or her past before the Sundering of the Original Soul.

Along with a few Story instance where we actually play during the time before the Original Calamity happened to learn how events lead to the original Calamity.

There is a lot of questions left unanswered about the opinions and events outside of Amaurot in the Compelte World and Emit's opinion was still very biased towards only Amaurot's society views only and what happened only in Amaurot.

It would be very interested if 5.X provide us a view on the original world beyond Amaurot and what happened with the other Civilizations.

This or some form of this is something I would really love to see happening as well as to give us small hints as to who we originally were. I've said it in a couple of threads already. I hope they do it

And it doesnt have to be echo induced either.

perfect time I'd see them do that is say right now after going back to slitherbough and talking to Y'shtola she says she has need if you. When that pops up in the msq of 5.xx the WoL could have a flash back while they're talking to start the quest and it be a snippet of their life in Amaurot.

I find it a touch strange that we have never once had an Echo flashback triggered by the presence of an Ascian.

I feel like that's the only way we might actually learn the truth of our original self short of Hydaelyn and/or Elidibus telling us straight-up, unless becoming more "complete" really would bring back the memories as Emet-Selch seemed to be hoping.

If Elidibus is going to be sending bonafide WoLs after us through more of his usual Ascian foolery, that might end up happening sooner then later.

If Elidibus is going to be sending bonafide WoLs after us through more of his usual Ascian foolery, that might end up happening sooner then later.

I suspect we never learn about the Original Soul because we have only battle against the fragmented souls Ascians which have all lost their memories of the original world and the 3 Head Ascians is most likely due only Emit being close to the Original Soul with the fact we can't control when the Echo shows us visions.

I do suspect that....

The Other Warriors of Light we will fight maybe the remaining 5 fragmented Souls and thus once we get more complete the memories of WoL's past may return. Not only that, we did learn the more complete the WOL soul is the more powerful he or she becomes and Emit did hint only the Souls that are complete may remember fully the Original World and their past.

That makes me wonder though...

Is Elidibus doing it on purpose simply because he needs us unsundered and at full power? He's most likely fully aware of who we are considering the amount of power we've shown, and he has only interfered when the balance of the Source is at risk. He didn't bother us until the light grew too strong, at which point he sent the WoD against us. He didn't interfere again oddly enough, until we killed Zenos. Then he took center stage, as if he was being forced to intervene when before he never did. He himself even tried to kill us and almost did, as if he was trying to prevent the calamity of light from happening. What he, and possibly what Zodiark wants (since he IS Zodiark's Emissary), could run counter to the other Ascians.

If he is indeed going to throw our reflections at us, he's doing it on purpose to strengthen us for some reason. If I were to imagine a reason why, he probably knows what exactly caused the calamity of the ancient world and is trying to get us, the 14th member of the Council, who could very well be the most powerful one of them (or at least the most empathetic), to help fix the problem because we might be the only one in existence who can.

We may learn something about Hydaelyn's nature once we gain back the memories.

Emit did mention that Hydaelyn may only provide us half-truths to the fully story and he is the more open of the Ascians when it comes to telling the truth straight up.

While we know Hydaelyn's current role to hold back Zodiark, we don't know her full nature that was involved with designing her personality when she was summoned.

There is much we don't know about the past which is why it is important for them to slowly reveal the truth through 5.1 to 5.55 so we are prepared the more heavy burdern truth in 6.0 which looks like the grand finale to the current long Zodiark vs Hydaelyn storyline considering what they have set up at the end of 5.0.

The road to the finale is finally here now and it is a matter of how will this end and what will begin in the Season 2 storyline.

He told us that Hydaelyn was summoned by "thankless fools" who "began to fear that Zodiark's might was too great".

However, we are told (by Hythlodaeus) that Hydaelyn was summoned by dissenters who believed that the Amaurotines had no right to kill off the life they would have nurtured in order to fuel Zodiark's "miracles".

Now, you could twist Emet-Selch's words into being "true from a certain point of view", but that still requires twisting and special pleading, and is certainly not "telling the truth straight up".

Emit did tell only the truth to us but he only told some of it. The rest of the story about Emit's story about the function and creation of Zodiark and Hydaelyn was discovered by WoL and the Scions. Thus he did tell only the Truth but he only gave us the parts of it that would benefit him.

Honestly i wish that had happend after we defeated Hades when he said "remember we once lived" etc i hoped wed trigger a flashback cutscene oof missed opportunity but yeah i hope we start getting such visions during 5.x

I suspect during the development of this moment they have yet to fully develop that part of the story and thus plans to save it for 5.X MSQ or they just didn't want to ruin the Victory moment.
