Just had the most fascinating conversation with a GM

I tried to make a character on Hyperion to see if this was actually a thing (because I was curious; I've never seen this happen before for any zone other than the Lochs back when Ixion was hot stuff), but I've been in an almost 1,800 player queue for the last 20 minutes. Not even Cactuar has queues this large, and it's still listed as Congested. O.o

Well if there really are so many bots that South Shroud is locked out the whole server being que-gated isn't out of the question.

I'd assume that RMT "companies" are spamming more bots then usual under the assumption a new server would have a higher demand for gil.

This seems a bit overkill, though, to the point where I'm wondering if someone is doing it just for the sake of trying to get SE's attention.

Well, I guess that would make sense for Spriggan/Twintania (I haven't logged into my Twintania alt since ShB dropped but I've heard from friends queues have been bad there), but Hyperion isn't a new server... It's legacy.

That is rather unusual.

Going around the Aether DC I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary as far as the RMT bots go, so either it is some manner of malicious attack or the RMTers just screwed up and scripted way too many bots to be cycling on Hyperion.

thankfully on balmung this issue doesnt appear to be a problem due to it being locked lol

According people on Balmung, there are still bots running gathering stuff that have been doing so for YEARS... so the whole ban WAVE is clearly missing clearly reported bots out in the open.

I wish that GMs had more power to perm ban bots on the spot.

Balmung isn’t Congested anymore. They opened it up not too long ago.
