Why are people so allergic to playing decently?
Man, certain skills/spells exist for a reason. Doesn't hurt to use them when needed to.

Because the "decently" grade is subjective and not set in stone.
Pretty sure people would start playing more "decently" if the game itself told them they performed bad.
e.g have an objective measure to hold people against, and not a personal expectation.

Remove every dungeon from MSQ or give Trusts for every first dungeon visit, which will hopefully be continued from Shadowbringer onwards and you can gate, restrict, sort out as much as you want and in whatever difficulty you want. As a bad player, I have better things to do than waste people's precious dungeon time. However, I also have the minmum decency to do forced dungeons as painfree as my bad skills allow. This way nobody is "hindering other players" and people who care about dungeons themselves will flock to them.

Was just in Eden with a healer that only wanted to look pretty bad healer during major damage spikes.
I been playing healer ever since launch, if I can keep a good DPS uptime, and properly heal the party, basically any healer should be able to do the same. It's a hassle because it's less damage regardless, why should they carry you for a healer that can do both.
But you can't make players do something they don't wanna do, bad players will be exactly that sadly.
And if they don’t want to get better they will have to deal with people not taking too kindly to that as well. A player can play the game however they want, but at the end of the day they’re aren’t the only person in a group activity.
And do you pay my sub? Taking 30min for an instance is quite a lot for FF14 standards, why should I accept that someone is slowing down the whole group? Some dont even care to read their tooltips, so why should it be "ok" to let bad players be bad players?
Myself, I just play have fun. If I don't like skills a class has, I don't care if it is better dps or not. I won't use them. If a aoe rotation is clunky, I just won't use it. That is me, and noone pays for my account and has no right to tell me to do it unless I am doing content that is not forced on me to keep on with the story.
Its not like you dont save yourself some time when the dungeon is done fast, no? And I am not talking about speedruns, but average instance fights should take 20min at most.
Beside, I dont really expect anything from players that have the green leaf next to their name, they should still be respected being new players. But someone who's playing FFXIV for a while now or has returned after a long while should actually check their rotation.
i mean most of them don't really? I see one side getting more upset than the other about it. This is the price people pay for convenience like I said you give up quality of players for it. At the end of the day, them being bad having fun at the cost of your fun is something that will always happen.
Wanting msq stuff to be harder to teach them is not going to teach them. It is just going to punish them. That is pretty much it. Who is right or wrong? Don't know it is subjective. I am just stating that being upset with players being bad and want them to get better is a lost cause.
Please define playing decently.
It's not that easy to play the different classes effectively and the game itself does offer you no help in learning them. We are at the beginning of a new expansion and virtually all guides are outdated now, so a lot of players are struggling with the changes.
So yes, unless you are a "end-game" player most players will have problems right now, and yes, Titania Ex *is* a dps check for most group as of now.
Because you have no say in it? You used a convenience tool for the system to make you a group. Your fun being ruined for my own is not going to make me lose sleep. You losing time, again same. I don't have this problem because they add a trust system I used now and can go at my own pace. But what I am stating is that bad players being bad players is ok in my book as long as they are having fun. If taking longer to do something is that much of a problem. I would make friends and do premade groups. You have that option. And do you pay my sub? This is a war that you can't win. You can't force people to play better. I have plenty friends who don't care how bad they play, and have tons of fun even being bad. I respect that.
Making content harder won't make them play better. It will just mean your time gets more wasted when they join your group.
While they are at it they can allow up to two players to enter a trust dungeon so that my friend and I don't have to deal wit hall those good players wasting our time.Remove every dungeon from MSQ or give Trusts for every first dungeon visit, which will hopefully be continued from Shadowbringer onwards and you can gate, restrict, sort out as much as you want and in whatever difficulty you want.
