That being said, we could certainly use more than the 50-something stock animations we seem limited to at present.Cutscenes, because they mocapped absolutely everything. The result is gorgeously smooth, but it was not an intelligent of efficient use of resources.

Heck, in CS conversations it usually feels like we have fewer than 4.
I rather liked Black Shroud, especially once you got to the higher levels. Coerthas was my favorite, though, by a long shot. I'd probably take 1.0 Coerthas's general design philosophy and its use of liminal space over many of the more recent zones' designs, to be honest.I remember in 1.0, if a target was behind a small rock, it was out of your line of sight and you couldnt attack it. 1.0 also had loading screens, in the form of giant hallways between areas.
The only nice thing about 1.0 was some of the map design. Caves in La Noscea and the 2nd level of Thanalan. Black shroud was garbage.
I miss 3.0
I miss 6.0.
Yes, I am from the future, where 7.0 turned out to not be as good.

Yeah the thunderstorms were nice. This is pretty much all I miss now. This and actually riding elevators. I get that it's faster now, but I miss just going to get on the ferry and having a little sail sometimes. I really thought and hoped the "skipper" thing was just temporary, or would be made optional.
I miss it too. It was chill. I do belive this game could benefit from having notorious monsters spaning in the overworld though. Of all levels.
They could drop glam stuff, unique stuff, pets and currency.
Outside the Hunt system ofc. That just barely Even rewards you.
I know fates exsist but, so few of them rewarda anything interesting and have No incentive.
I don't miss 1.0 it had it day yet 1.0 did add much to ffxiv
I didn't miss 1.0 when I stopped playing it because it was terrible... and I don't miss it now.
