It ends up giving me the feeling that Gunbreaker was designed in a vacuum by a completely different team, like SE doesn't let their employees talk to each other and share ideas about the game. At some point somebody should have noticed that Continuation itself is always grayed out, it's a trait in ability form, a placeholder for other skills that doesn't need to exist.
Gnashing fang has quick CD enough to justify continuation and others on a seperate buttons.
Its only 30 seconds, you use gnashing much more fequently than you do Requitecast damage windows, get over it the complain is extra lame. Dont tell me you are using Confiteur, holy circle or holy spirit outside of requietcast windows.
GNB has highest APM within all tanks, he plays unique and good, leave it alone.

That makes no sense. It’s frequent enough that all that button mashing SHOULDN’T be a thing. If anything, one of the fixes could be to just have the burst on a longer cooldown, but with higher potency, so that you can catch a breath.

I know you’ve convinced yourself that pressing all these unnecessary buttons somehow makes you a better player. It does not. And Gunbreaker is essentially a very simple class, its button bloat masquerading as complexity. A burst should be something fun. Just look at Warrior’s Fell Cleave window, one of the funnest mechanics in the game - it’s just one button. Now look at Stormblood’s Dark Knight and its universally panned Dark Arts and its terrible double weaving. It necessitated a full rework, and look what they did with it - just repackaged it a little and named it Continuation. Yet people who hated Dark Arts now suddenly love Gunbreaker. It’s baffling.

I am in the camp of it not changing, It's no different then any melee DPS like Drg or Monk in my opinion. Taking away that one button would kill the flow of the class big time. I can post a video of my playing and show you how simple it already is with the system we have now. I'm telling it's not that bad. Hell it's way better than monk in my opinion which has 3 unneeded buttons... on monk. Maybe I'm just used to complex buttons as I have a huge background in CAPCOM fighting games and again I play monk. So playing on breako is stupid simple for me already.

Isn't that XIV in a nutshell, though?

We don't have abilities that can interestingly combine with each other; we have linear, unidirectional sequences that offer no decision-making, but simply take up more button slots. (See all "combos".)
We deny QoL or functionality fixes one expansion so we can give them an expansion later in a way that takes up another button slot. (See original "Deliverance".)
We make abilities that literally cannot be used except after another still take up separate button slots so that players won't confuse them for a "secondary" ability instead of something "new and intriguing". (See Mirage Dive or new Assassination.)

It would seem the developers are convinced that--at least, or especially, when it comes to combat toolkits--we both hate actual depth and love the pretense of depth. From that assumption, ours is the logical outcome.
