As the player you should give you opinion in a passionate manner that makes the developers think [Hmmmmm if they want it that much, we may be able to make it work] (But there are impossible requests at times)

In other words, be passionate but reasonable. Just make it known it's wanted in a way that catches positive attention, but don't request what you want it to be. Stick to facts and simply keep it civil.

This is unfortunately not what 90% of this thread is, while fluctuating from civil to uncivil even most civil responses are trying to push their own desire of the race (myself included i have done it with wanting a youthful face etc.) so you can really see the difference in cultures with handling requests, rather than being short concise support we are all over the place within the supporting camp so much so we bicker way too much (DO NOT START ANOTHER FEMININE or RIPPED or HEIGHT DEBATE, keep it to yourself at this point everyone is sick of it and its just creating more stigma) that is not helping our request especially after we did get an official response despite it being could happen if resources allow while we continue having the same patch cycle(Getting to a point this is feeling like current cycle is doing more harm than good for what we have atm let alone adding 2 more race models) .

Would you mind supplying said link again then? I searched the links provided from official sources of what was said, and nothing matched in search for what your quotes were. Why I am a bit confused on where it came from.

That's mostly a cultural difference if anything. Japanese society values peace keeping and not disrupting the status quo for as long as they possibly can. So it's not surprising one bit that there is not "outrage" from the JP servers. Where as in more western society, we are more than prepared to bite the heads off of perceived injustices.

There are good things and bad things about both cultures. While the JP forums are a lot more calm with their reactions, the Viera thread on their end was extremely short lived and tapered off into obscurity once everyone had essentially "gotten over it". And while there are definite problems with the EN thread, 800+ pages is still 800+ pages. it shows that there are people who are willing to not let their dissatisfaction towards the gender locked races fade away as some would want them to, all infighting aside, we are essentially on the same team, and it's a determination that kept this thread's heart beating and pushed up; showing that there are people who still care.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side, and comparing the two communities is pointless, because they're two different communities who handle things differently.

I just wish that the devs had focus on one race. The viera and horthgar as they are now seem very unfinished to me. Voice and animation bugs, limited hair styles and no helms, no other gender. I think they should have just focused on one race and completed it in its entirety rather then try to please everyone and release two half finished races. Think they could have saved themselves a lot of hassle.

I don't think this is that unpopular at all. it is glaringly obvious that the Viera and Horthgar are fairly half-done. From an objective standpoint, there are many things missing that would not be missing if Square didn't get overly ambitious and try to build two separate races. I think it would have been more beneficial for Square to release one race at a time (full Viera one EP, then full Hrothgar another, or vice versa); two is just too much of a workload, and the pay-off isn't that spectacular.

Honestly I feel you're just reaching for anything at this point. Very few are even seeing how any of his words can be quoted to imply that, unless taken out of context, which I fear you and others have done. And things taken out of context lose there full meaning and can be construed in a manner that supports a point when the original content was not meant to support it.

Yeah, I'm with Lauront here. You are the one taking it out of context, and was seemingly being aggressive towards an innocuous comment made by Zeylos of all people, and foisting what he said to blanket many male Viera supporters as "liars", in my opinion.

Yoshida's quote literally reads how it says. You are the one stretching for a "no" here. Trying to explain it like it has something to do with Japanese 'culture', When at the end of the day SE is a business, and just as the quote reads, if demand is there and circumstances allow they would consider implementing male viera.

In referring to the comment of lying, it is exactly what that is, a lie. The wording was posted in such a way claiming that male Viera would appear in 6.0. If that offends someone, I surely won't apologize for calling someone out for it. I see things as they are, how I am.

And if people are referring to the gamespot article, from March 25th, the official post trumps it due to being in May 9th, which is after March and the current official stance.

So, I'm curious what the basis is for these claims, if there is anything more recent then May 9th from official or reliable sources. I'm not afraid to admit in being in the wrong, but I won't know if I am if don't find said source. I prefer facts, not rumors and conjecture.

I feel that it is fair that you could have read posts in this thread where I literally provided the link with Yoshida's statements in response to another poster. Along with the fact that I literally got said link from Lauront who posted it a page before that, unless we are all somehow talking about different things here.

I come back to find that people are arguing over a Zeylos quote. A good-natured guy, but the king of hyperbole to the point you have to take everything said with a whole mug of salt. Haha, what the heck. Literally, do not take what he says seriously unless he has an official link/statistics or is quoting something with these things in them because half the time it's not fact, it's hyperbole or an opinion. It's just Zeylos being, Zeylos. There's no point calling him out either because he's our lovable Zeylos who we endure due to him being endearing.

I'd read the thread a little, you'd find out you're wasting your time with this because the quote is simply hyperbole and opinion. Nothing new has been added since the official statements/tweets etc by Yoshida and Matsuno. A date regarding male Viera has not been given. Move on.
