So about current state of Fordola and Arevald in 5.0...

Playing through the lvl 80 Summoner quest we learn that Fordola and Arevald are now part of a Anti-Primal Squad. They are always fighting together to defeat the primals being summoned in Eorzea while we are doing other stuff.

Considering how the quest treat them, I can assume Fordola and Arevald are now considered members of the SMN Job NPCs so if Role Quests in the future begins to use all Job NPCs in a storyline we may expect Fordola and Arevald's story to be continued in future Role/Job Quests involving SMN Job similar to how SMN lvl 80 quest continued their storyline in 5.0.

This has been in the in-game dialogue ever since 4.4 and 4.5, yes. While we're trying to deal with the aftermath of the top Scions getting called to the First, the lower-ranking Scions assure us that they're ready to hold the line against the Primal threat.

This includes the trio at Rhalgr's Reach, where V'mah assures us that Primal-hunting is continuing apace, Arenvald continues to gush about us and Alphinaud, and J'moldva mentions that Fordola has been helping with the anti-Primal efforts.

(And of course there's the out-of-game short story, but I assume not everyone wants to rely on out-of-game sources.)

What text were you reading? Light & Dark (the First's terms for Astral and Umbral) are just positive or negative charged elements and each element reacts differently depending on the charge.

    .
I am speaking more on how SMN has expanded the their story.

With current developments we now know the Anti-Primal squad consist of the SMN Immortal Flame Job story NPCs as the backline Artiliary and both Fordola and Arevald as the frontline tanks.

From how things are presented I can only guess Arevald and Fordola may become permanent SMN Job story NPCs for future expansions maybe involving future job Role Quests similar to how certain Story NPCs are having their own story continued in certain Job storylines for Post-MSQ developments.

It is also nice to see how Arevald and Fordola view each other after spending so long already fighting as companions in the Anti-Primal Squad.

    On another topic:

I am curious what may happen if 6.0 becomes the Finale for the Season 1 storyline (aka Zodiark vs Hydaelyn Arc).

We have been in this Season 1 storyline since 1.0 and it seems we are almost reaching the conclusion at this point.

Not to mention how will the storyline progress in 6.4 to 7.0 and beyond once we finally move away from the whole Zodiark/Ascian vs Hydaelyn/WoL Season storyline. Who may replace the Scions as our new allies, who will return to join our new allies? Will there be a new organization that replace the Scions? Who are the new Antagonist and who will be the Major Main Antagonist that remain consistent in Season 2 storyline without bring back "Oh it is Ascian/Zodiark again"?

Where, exactly, in the conversation did Urianger ever say, as you stated, that Light "contains none of the elements that make up life", and that "Dark is all the elements that make up life"?

All he says is that there are six elements according to the Eorzean (and implicitly Norvrandtian) ideas of aether, plus two polarities that all elements are aligned to. What we call "Astral" is what the people of the First call "Darkness", and what we call "Umbral" is what people of the First call "Light". "Astral"/"Dark" is attributed to activity, and "Umbral"/"Light" is attributed to passivity.

In fact, I made an Imgur album with screenshots of the relevant dialogue.

There is literally nothing in that scene I can see which relates to your assertion that Light "contains none of the elements that make up life". If you are trying to argue the polarities placed on that elemental chart, you would also be claiming that Water (which tends towards Umbral/Light) is not "an element that makes up life", much less Earth. (Note that the very first elements we attempt to return to the world in the Eden raids are Water and Earth.)

So, once again, citation needed for your claim, please.

Yeah, I think people are extrapolating from the whole "as life's myriad colours converge to produce black, the people had called (the pole alligned with activity and growth) Darkness" and Light being the opposite to mean Light is antithetical to Life.

As a result due to lacking these qualities, Healing Magic does not work on them due to only containing the Light element and none of the other elements which result in their body being more of a Anti-life being.

There seems to be a certain trait about light element that prevents a being that is formed completely by it to be within the spectrum of being alive. I expect we may get more details of it later for MSQ reasons.

you could technically say the same of the voidsent cause you need both light AND dark to truly be termed as alive so that doesnt say anything...

Well, of course. Still it makes sense as the format for combining his name with his current title, so you can clearly refer to him without having to use "the Exarch" which is a bit impersonal. I'm starting to use it myself, if I want to refer to him by name but also need to identify him.

(For anyone reading along who isn't familiar with the naming conventions - Tia is a tribe rank, not an individual name, so "G'raha Exarch" would maintain the name-title format - not that we have any canon precedent for swapping in other titles like that.)

It wouldn't be the first time characters have stepped out of MSQ and into a job questline (see: Hilda in Stormblood MCH questline) but SMN also sits closer to the MSQ than a lot of jobs. We're dealing with primals and Ascians, plus we have Y'shtola's sister as our job mentor.
