Well, that do sound to me like there won't be any male Viera or female Hrothgar.


There are times when people can't get what they want. Sad but true.
But after reading that "Letter from the Producer" I'm pretty sure that there won't be anything else.
The important thing now is for people to embrace the fact that there's a high chance this is it and find a way to try and accept it in a good manner.
Not whine and cry even louder.
There has been an answer, for quite some time now it seems. That Letter was from 05-10-2019.
I guess people just can't deal with not getting what they want.

I think people are mostly holding out hope that, while it is indeed likely that there will be no more new races and such, there was never a flat out no because Yoshi P can't exactly rule it out entirely. While it might be difficult at this point in time, that may change later. And he never said "nope, not gonna happen!" I think it was smart of him to leave it up in the air. Still though I don't think there's much to discuss as far as this topic goes. What's done is done. The future may hold some surprises, but until something is said or shown this thread has all but served its purpose in the here and now.

I'd take it as they aren't actually working on it or planning to in the near future, but it's not a 'no' right now. Maybe one day is still what I got from it. Circumstances do change over time.

But, if I remember correctly. Isn't it part of Japanese culture that they don't really do give a staight out "no" as a respons alot of times due to trying to be polite?
A "maybe" is often a "no" as I've understood it.

I could be wrong. I just have a faint memory of hearing something this.

So I still think it's not going to happen. Atleast for a long time.
But I could be wrong. But why hold ones breath when they already have given an answer about it not happening and there will be no promises.
Enjoy what one got right now and be happily surprised if/when it happens.

Assume you're referring to me. So I simply call out BS when I see it is all. Same way I roll my eyes when people somehow see it as a "Not right now" when nothing in any of those words even implies such a thought. If anyone can find different, I'd be happy to see it, since still struggle at times with english words. But I saw the exact thing Evergrey did, a simple polite no said in way of a statement example.

The closest, if not far reaching would be this part:
"then perhaps someday you’ll be able to see them for yourself. I want to be clear that this does not mean it will eventually happen, and that I cannot make any promises at this time. I hope you will understand and bear with us."

Which is again, not even a maybe really.

You remembered correctly. No is actually not a common thing said frankly in japan. If something is to be responded with a negative, or No like statement, it's generally deflected or redirected in a polite fashion or ignored.

But alot of people can't take that No for an answer. As it is not what they wanted to hear.
For now there is no Male Viera planned.
And I find little reason to keep crying about it since SE already know the demand for them.
That demand won't change the reasons to why they can't implement them.
People just have to wait for the time when it is possible to do so.
It's not like SE is going to forget about it if people stop crying.

Its funny, in that twitter link Yoshida suddenly states that not having male Viera is according to the lore while at the same time he has more than once stated that lore is not the reason...then he says that male Hrothgar are the answers to female Viera only and even in the liveletter post it sounds like Viera came first (since they already wanted to do them in HW) and Hrothgar only came after people posted about the Lupins in Stormblood. Which goes against other answers, that Hrothgar came first and they decided to add female Viera instead of female Hrothgar.

In the twitter post he states that they will look at feedback first before deciding for an answer about including the genders and even in the liveletter its not a 100% no. (Unlike his statement about playable children) Why not make a definite statement there too? Why not outright say: No we wont ever see the other genders? Maybe because they are not completely of the table!

And as long as he does not state a 100% NO, why should people stop requesting them? Again, it mostly stays in one thread anyway, so who cares if people continue to post about this? I mean seemingly the Hrothgar players should be thankful that a few of us never truly shut up about wanting Lupins...since that was seemingly enough final feedback for them to do the beast race.
