And if you skip the cutscenes you will of course only get half the rewards (XP/Tomestones) that you would otherwise get.I believe if there is a new player in the group (first time bonus reward) then cutscenes should be mandatory. But if no one in the group is new, then there should be the option to skip the cutscenes. I don’t see a point in forcing something on people who aren’t new to the content.
The large rewards are just to compensate for the long run time after all, so if you skip cutscenes there is no need for extra compensation.

Just bring a book. I'm currently reading "The Alloy of Law" by Brandon Sanderson, it's pretty good.
With this logic, we should make ALL cutscenes unskippable, even in dungeons we've run a thousand times.Or you know veteran players can get off their high horse and actually play all the content because at one time THEY were those new players and people did those dungeons as vets and helped get them through that. Just saying acting like you're better and that you don't want to mingle with the plebeians is NOT the direction to take the community in.
---------------
Adding an option to the Duty Finder options, or next to MSQ Roulette, that allows you to choose skippable cutscenes at the cost of lower rewards, would eliminate almost all of the issue. People are OK with the trade off for a faster run with lower reward would have that option, people who don't mind going to the cinema instead of playing the game they're logged into would have that option.

... Which lowers the pool of available players for the roulette, which means even longer queues for newer players who just want to finish the story. This is a terrible idea. With this logic, we should make ALL cutscenes unskippable, even in dungeons we've run a thousand times.

Look, the dungeons take a while and you don't want to sit through them, I get it, but they made this change for damn good reason, and said reason has been stated over and over. If people don't want to trudge through those dungeons, do no queue. It really is that simple.
The only way anything would work is if they just checked who in the queue hasn't done it yet, and if there's no new players present, allow skipping. This has probably already been stated, but I don't feel like reading pages and pages of posts, so...

This is what happens when people abuse the system. THe change was made cause literally people - new- were getting bullied by old players not wanting to wait for anything. Was the change extreme? Yes but then again this was brought on by the players.
I would pay a solid 10 bucks to be a fly on the wall in the rooms of the people who *absolutely* hate MSQ roulettes yet still que up. I am hoping to catch like a deamon or something holding a gun to their heads or like a explosive going to go off if they don't do it. I say this because I seems weird if no one is forcing you to do it ,that you still do it. Instead of being productive somewhere else you spend your energy being negative and rather change the system in your favor while ruining it for others. I couldn't afford to be that negative if it was financed.
Ok maybe I would pay 15 bucks.

So much this, before this change I avoided that roulette like the plague because I hated the high potential for drama. Now I'm ok with setting some time aside to run it.Back before this change it was kind of stressful on me to queue for the main story Quest roulettes...
Whenever we had a new player I felt obligated to stand up for them, which usually meant I would be pitting myself against most of the party, just so that the new player could experience the content as the devs intended.
Since this change, the roulette has been much more relaxed.

I Alt+Tab and watch youtube or browse something while the cutscenes are playing.
Just rework Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium into either entirely solo instances, or work Trusts/Squadrons in there, and delete the MSQ Roulette entirely.

Or leave it be players still queue up for it and level quicker and get some solid gil and tomes and you know likes been suggested countless times the people that dont want to see the cut scenes can just avoid queueing for it problem solved everyones happy.
