Please give us the ability to make shorter Viera

If they allowed for a larger range of height on Viera but would also give a wider range of heights on other races, would there be complaints?

That is really a mean way to be. There is a point where they would have to stop, but I don't think they meant to make them 3 ft.

Nothing about her opinion is mean, it’s just a preference and she has the right to state that. You seem to be more offended that she doesn’t agree with you than anything.

On topic, I don’t think shorter Viera would look good either but I’m fine with just a little more range added to the slider (like a few cm). I think they are fine just the way they are.

So long as people are okay with money being taken away from other areas of the game to do it I don't see there being too many. It's just that depending on how much they extend the range there'd be a /lot/ of model and texture tweaking needed.

In this case, itd be a lot less work than anticipated because Height scaling in this game is proportional. Everything get's larger or smaller on the character as you move the slider up and down. They would, of course, have to check certain things, but it's probably not as much in this case as expected. For what we can see from our end, everything scales up or down uniformly and the end points are arbitrary decisions theyve made, not mechanical requirements. It's why there are spells that can shrink you and it doesnt break your character.

Where do you get that "everyone" is saying this? I'm literally the only one who said anything about taking the dev's time away from more important content. It has nothing to do with "what I want" and everything to do with the fact that adding in the clan is unnecessary since we already have a variety of different character heights and as I said in my post, would cause a demand for a third clan for ALL races which, again, is unnecessary and would take their time away from development time of new raids and such, aka: more important content. If they had wanted the Viera to be short they would have given the option for them to be short.

I used hyperbole and a little inference, but it's usually the same things. People see someone asking for something and panic because there's something that may compete with what they want. It's really not up to you to manage the devs' priorities. Promote the things you want appropriately if it bothers you.

More variation in height is not grounds for a new race nor even a new clan. People love to throw around lore but don't really know what it is. It's not an absolute statement on the limits of biology. Lore is history and generalizations about race and culture. The descriptions of Miqo'te clans make several statements that are just not reflected in the character creation. Things such as ear size and tail size are the same for both. There will always be limits but there is nothing wrong with people asking for a little expansion on those.

It's usually just a couple different issues: "If this happens I might not get what I want" or "I don't want to see something I don't like." It's fine to have an opinion but don't act like people are trying to take something from you when they are not.

Go play a smaller race if you want shorter, and equip some bunny ears from gold saucer.

Viera is supposed to be the tall amazonian race as detailed in the lore surrounding the race.

And those skin tones couldn't just be baked into the same clan because?

That would have been awful. After all these years I've finally found a race with a skin tone that doesn't look too drab, too grey, or too orange in the many lightning conditions of this game. So many fantasias used and I'm finally happy.

If the choices were condensed into one clan and the colours shuffled around the one I love so much might not have existed. ; ;
