The problem there is that nobody likes Necron anyways, so maybe we might have gotten Trance Kuja as a tier boss. I was also noticing how the final boss of ShB looked very much like Soul Cage from the end of disc 2 in FFIX.

I mean I'm glad they aren't re-using the same SB pattern again because it was unique for its expansion and it's a good thing they're changing the format. Just not a fan of this primal format. Hopefully they can get the rest of the aether collection over with in one fight. Like Garuda, Ifrit, Shiva, and Ramuh all at once in a team and then move on with the Eden plot in a new direction. I wouldn't at all expect Ultimecia to be a final boss for Eden for two main reasons:

Kefka and Exdeath weren't final bosses of their expac. Tier bosses maybe, but final bosses usually have something to do with the in universe lore and aren't just cameo fights.

The Extreme already got used for that dungeon after ARR. They wasted it already and can't use it again without having the effect lost of it already being in the game.
XIV Hades is based in VII Hades, not IX Hades. I do think Necron could show up as part of the MSQ, but I don't exactly expect a ton of IX references in Eden. Considering Gaia seems to be a latent Ascian and her artwork resembles Nomura's old art of Edea, I'll be very surprised if she doesn't end up becoming something like Ultimecia, doubly so considering how Griever came into being and what the WoL is currently doing in the storyline.

Same here. I've been playing for the last 4 years and the extreme has never been used in the game at all. I feel like Toystore got their songs mixed up or something...The Extreme is the final form of the Ultimecia battle from FFVIII.

I don't see this or the Soul Cage reference from IX. Soul Cage was basically a giant tree. I think Hades in this game is it's own thing with references from past games. I wouldn't say it's based off of a particular version of the past games. Hades from FFVII was a skeletal being in a black cloak. In IX, it was more of a demon-like being that sat on a giant throne of faces. Which fit perfectly with the Ascian thing in FFXIV. He was also in FFXI with it's final form being a giant winged-beast with multiple arms, similar to FFXIV's iteration.

I'm hoping SE doesn't take the retelling of the story route but I could see some dark entity pulling the strings behind the scenes just like in FF8 with Gaia being similar to Rinoa having some sort of bloodline that makes her vulnerable for posession...which is why she didn't know where she was when we first encounter her. So I can see an Ultimecia-like enemy showing up eventually. But I know for a fact we're going to fight Griever. SE would e crazy to miss out on that opportunity to put that in the game while Liberi Fatalli plays in the background with Eden drawing so many references from FF8.

What I have to say as far as feedback is concerned hasn't changed since the Omega series. This one, to me, does not feel like a raid, but a series of trial encounters. Not once did I get the feeling that we were breaking into and exploring a place as we made our way to the bosses. I realize that this is a matter of preference and personal taste (I've encountered many who prefer the raids to be just a series of boss encounters) but I thought I'd throw my two cents nonetheless. In this regard, I prefer the 24-man raids which, although still linear, give me an actual sense of traversal and some exploration as we make our way through them.

I agree. This has been a personal gripe of mine and it has been brought up in the past but the general census is that a large majority of people didn't really care for it when they had it back in BCoB which is why they removed that aspect in later parts of Alex and completely in Omega. But yeah it does just feel like trial fights although, I cas see why people would perfer that over zerging through groups of easy enemies to get to the boss. SE would need to do something to make it interesting.

You're right about The Extreme. I must have misheard the Midgardsormr after ARR ended in the dungeon fight as The Extreme.

I was thinking Hades's first form looked like Soul Cage from FFIX. Mostly because of the gigantic upper body with the giant, disproportionate shoulders and the thin cone going down the body. He also had the scepter Hades had in FFIX. The rings around his arms also reminded me of Necron's floating rings so I felt that fight was more FF9 than anything else. Especially considering Hades was supposed to be the boss of FF9 before he got shafted and turned into an optional fight.

Yeah I understand the mixed feeling, but they are in fact new boss since they don't have the same mecanics, and I can't wait to see them in the savage version.

The fight were Ok in normal, I wiped on 2 of the new boss personnaly, 2 were one shot (including Titan). yes there were some death, but it was just normal, once we've seen the mecanics, we can avoid it easily for the rest of the fight, especially with all those orange marker. But I do feel they will be challenging in savage mode.

My mixed feeling are the increase of the drop rate for normal content here. At some point, I understand that many players don't want to re-run them many time in a week to get a piece of drop, but at the same time, having all your drop in the first kill means for many no more reason to run it until the next reset...
Wrong wrong wrong you only get one peice from each fight so you can iff you're lucky get a solid left side going a helmet arm foot or leg or body peice from each fight per week so luck being a huge factor will sitll have some people doing the same content week after week but it also ensures that someone doesnt feel forced to run the same part of a raid day in and day out and instead just do each in turn

Titan fight is awful. Area of effect for the car attack have to be guessed and learnt through die and retry. And since it's so """hard""", they've made it horribly slow and it's still possible to recover with hundred of KO, so it's boring...

It's a global problem with the game : it relies too much on one-shot so it has to be slowed down in exchange and it gets easily boring.

Considering Griever came into being because Ultimecia was digging into Squall's mind to find out what he considered the most powerful potential GF to be, and what we start doing in E3, I fully expect to see a manifestation of what the WoL(or Ryne, given what fighting Griever was supposed to represent) would consider to be the most powerful potential Primal. I expect something reminiscent of Griever, but I dunno if it actually will be Griever.

Based purely on what they both look like unmasked and the control of voidsent, I'm going to assume that Gaia is a piece Igeyorhm's soul which is starting to awaken. It allows Square to tie into the MSQ, allude to the sorceress plot without directly copying it, and bring back an old character while also providing a mirror for Ryne.

Git gud? But seriously, I like how the fight is so brutal if you’re not paying attention
