Well you have to look at it in a spectrum of players (something I whipped up on paint in a jiffy):



So you might say, why did you put the White Knights to the left and not at the other end? I'd answer and say that it wouldn't matter because both a White Knight and a Troll offer about the same amount of justified reasoning as the other (which would be very little if any for the most part).

So to give a slight description you have Sally Sunshiners which are typically more optimistic players but within reason and logic, they won't just blindly like anything like a White Knight, yet they rarely will troll through out the night (personally I find myself as a Sally Sunshiner).

Debbie Downers are the players whom like the game but don't ever feel like much will change, its not enough to quit for the most part but the future is general bleak. The Eeyore's of the player spectrum to put it blandly.

Then of course there are the trolls and White Knights, followers of chaotic justice for their own respective causes. Whether it be for defending their divine game or to simply get a laugh as other players reel about, it matters not, ultimately the end is the same; confusion, argument, and general resentment.

Now to get to the question at hand, which of these players will be leaving you ask? And will the trolls finally disappear? Answer is, no. A very resolute, no. In fact it might begin to feel like there are MORE trolls (possibly) on the forums. Because the biggest chunk of people that are probably going to disappear are going to be the "The Fence" players to the "Debbie Downers" you can guessimate that probably 75% of these players will leave from the idea of the game never getting better.

You can probably say about 30-50% of "The Fence" players to the "Sally Sunshiners" will leave due to reasonable facts (another game is providing their entertainment for the time being, or they are taking a slight break until a.bc patch is out)

None of your White Knights will leave, they-if they are truly devoted-will be so blindingly in love with the game why should they leave. These versions of trolls (if I may say so) will be just as obnoxious as the counterpart the Troll.

So there you have it. My end all analysis of the situation. The forums will continue to be as they are. Sadly I doubt much will change for the "better" in terms of less trolling/white knighting.

I think the community will improve alot now that those who dont play the game, and refuse to pay for it and were just here to troll are gone.

Sure youll have your negative nannygoats still, but at least now we will know they are probly playing the game and not just leeching a free extended trial to troll.

I expect the majority of the trolls to leave and the majority of the "This game is a waste of time there is no chance for recovery" ppl to fade away.

So it will improve in that respect, as for rest the forums they will still be mainly negative... there is still a massive divide in the population larger then any other mmo atm. Between those who want a mainstream WoW like mmo and those who want the game to be nothing like that. Until that divide is gone, there will always be complaining because It is simply impossible to make both sides happy with 1 set of content.

Something that makes the mainstream ppl happy will infuriate the other group, and stuff for the more traditional mmo/ old school people if they get some stuff they want it will piss off the mainsteam folks. If 2 sets of content are added... 1 group will complain they are being forced to pay for content they do not like. or as they will put it "I am being forced to pay for the content that is not fun".

So forums will remain really negative, but the endless trolling and pointless QQ of people who never even played the game in the last 3 months will stop. An improvement, but the community will still fail until everyone stops complaining and starts working together to figure things out, help ppl, and gives constructive feedback.

I've defended the game up until this point. As others have said—I'll be extremely critical now that I'm paying a monthly sub. I'm expecting even bigger updates than we've been getting; and hopefully nothing like the trash that was 1.20.
