"Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."
That would be logical.
I love this game but honestly when it comes to purchasing a house it feels like they took advice from a certain company that starts with a B and has a game that contains 3 letters the first starting with a W the second being a O and the third being a W. It just kinda reeks of the RNG vibe.
That would be ex post facto enforcement, punishing players who were playing within the rules at the time by destroying all their hard work. I admit I think it's horrible that some players can own so many homes, but they were within their rights to do it at the time.
Only that Blizzard doesn't have limited housing that works in the favour of people already owning a house and literally pooping on the heads of newer players and those who have been trying for years to purchase a house. I forget which game gave Yoshi the idea of limited housing but it was a really poopy and terribly unfair idea since housing is required for certain areas of the game and not just something pretty to look at and show all your mates your creativity skills. That would be logical.

I don't get why it's not just a lottery.
Plot empties out.
24 hours during which people can sign up for the lottery.
After 24 hours a random person who signed up gets the house.
1) You just walk up to the plot and sign up for the lottery. No need to wait possibly 10+ hours. You can enjoy the game instead.
2) This is fair even if you're busy irl with work or don't want to wait throughout the entire night without sleep and most likely nothing to show for it.
3) Everyone literally has the same chance of getting the plot.
4) This would remove the problem/unfairness of bots.
5) This makes it difficult/impossible for people to sell plots to others.
6) If SE reeeaally wants relocating to get priority, they could give people that want to relocate 2 or 3 tickets in the lottery instead of 1 so they have a bit more chance.
I can't think of any con to this to be honest :|
Because SE will need to be fair to everyone, it there is going to be a lottery system it will be server wide. You odd would be from 1 against few into one against a server. Some server had more than 20,000 characters. It is an awful idea to begin with
I don't believe it would be a punishment. Is it a punishment when your armor needs upgrading when an expansion comes out and more levels are added? After all the hard work in raids spent on gear you now need to upgrade? I don't think so. I think limiting all accounts to one private and one FC house is a great idea. ( Accounts because ..alts!) Return their gil for the homes.
I can't count the many times I've lost a housing spot in the goblet that I fully intended to use just to see an empty plot for days because they just want to plot swap the land. That is not fair for ANY potential buyer. I believe if you intend to plot swap you have to buy like everyone else and lose your 20% you put down on your original house just like you would with your house being demolished. You shouldn't feel bad. Housing is more of a PvP mode than PvP itself. They had to wait, you had the option not to. No shame in that.
Whenever I was able to move out of the Goblet a couple weeks ago, I began looking around for a new place either in Mist or Lavender Beds. After a couple days of watching plots one in Lavender Beds finally dropped low enough that I could relocate if I could farm out just a little more gil.
I visited the plot to make sure it was to my liking, more than once. Never saw a soul. When it came time for another price drop later that evening I returned to check the timer and such, and saw someone standing at the board. Well, I started to panic a little then and began vendoring a ton of things. Weapons, armor, furnishings...but not stuff I knew I'd miss. Even ran a couple roulettes. I was honestly surprised that they hadn't scooped it up after about 20 min or so, but they were there nonetheless. They were clearly waiting on the timer to lower the price. So...after debating with myself for a couple minutes I decided to walk up and relocate. I did consider letting them have it for a couple minutes though, I really did. The moment I walked up to the plot they d/ced in a strange twist of fate.
Felt like a bit of a jerk afterwards, but that's just how things roll with housing. I got over it fast. Don't hesitate or you'll simply regret it. If someone else is too slow, then...their loss, not yours. If people want to be mad, let them. They weren't able to take advantage of the situation. You were. They've only got themselves to blame. Or their internet connection.
These tips do nothing as everything is RNG. It's doesn't matter how hard you try no matter how many hours you put in it's just luck. You got lucky end of story! We need to force SE to fix this not bend over and let them f us. Many games have 10x better housing with potato servers
