Is humanity so important as to keep Cthulu asleep, simply by virtue that for a brief period of time, amidst the ground of their dominion shrinking under their feet, they delude themselves to be the masters of the world?

Let Cthulu have a lie in, in a blink of an eye for him we'll have lived for centuries and destroyed ourselves anyway.
while id agree with this, surely there is something else behind the Ascians' haste if they are this close to bringing zodiark back, and yet they have the benefits of immortality to wait... I wonder what Elidibus is thinking now that he is the only one left. despite Emet-Selch's death he seems to be staying the course.
They might be technically immortal, but they're clearly not immune to feeling impatient.while id agree with this, surely there is something else behind the Ascians' haste if they are this close to bringing zodiark back, and yet they have the benefits of immortality to wait... Unlike Cthulu, who is far above such base emotions.
If we're level 1 (now level 9) Ascians are level 14, Cthulu is level 99.
Maybe whatever caused the Amaurotian apolcalypse... was superior to them and therefore.. correct?
