Can we get a dialog option to flirt with the Crystal Exarch? [mild spoiler]

I'm curious about this. Bioware has always been very liberal with their options. I do not recall these complaints. They have always tried so hard to add options for everyone, I'm honestly surprised there were any objections. 0.o

If you all want that then go play dragon age inquisition and mass effect or any of those other games they are out there.

those games are made for taking different paths this game isn't no matter what those optional cutscenes were I seen them as jokes to put a little humor into the game might I say a good damn job of it also I laughed all the way through the game.

the stuff you all are asking for if I wanted to play final fantasy sims I would go buy that game but it isn't and excuse me if I don't share in the same vision as everyone who wants the options I signed up for a adventure not romance.

To be fair, that’s like saying if you want a purple car you should have bought that one. Some cars are purple. You haven’t really presented an argument for or against, tbh. Just because Mass Effect or Dragon Age had something doesn’t mean FFXIV can’t have it.

I love this game but not that much lol

Did you play FF7? Did you take anyone to the Gold Saucer? Did it ultimately hurt the experience or even matter which one you took? Optional romance is optional and could be done without having an impact on things beyond itself and the player experience.

Besides, Emet-Selch was basically Fen'Harel this expansion, so we kind of are playing Dragon Age.

You were saying that having romance is not something that should be in Final Fantasy, otherwise its "final fantasy sims". I was just pointing out the idea of a light layer of romance in a FF story is hardly a foreign concept (And that's not even touching on romance being an irreplaceable cornerstone in several of the other games' plots).

Though, if you wanted to just come in and make a statement that would be completely unresponded to, I think a forum isn't the right medium for that. Back and forth responses is kind of the point here.

I love the post-MSQ dialogue options they added for him and would like to see more like these. However, it makes sense not to introduce any strictly romantic options. While flirty quips like "I'm your rolanberry" can be added, the game simply can't be bent to allow for a plausible romance story, which means any romantic advances by the WoL will have to be rejected. (Queue more complaining.) It would take too much resources to develop a romantic relationship in a believable way, think the dinner with Aymeric x 1000 and more, and that for each available NPC. It could be somewhat pulled off with an NPC we create similar to retainers/path companions, who stays at our house and/or fights by our side and has a few short dialogue lines. And even that would feel stilted. Imagine how a romance with a major NPC would have to be developed - the impact it would have for the story, all the different interactions with the rest of the NPCs, it's just too much resources for a side feature. It would also make some players who would like to know more about an NPC and see more of them feel forced to pick a romance option even if they don't want their character to be in a relationship with an NPC.

I agree with this. I think a fullblown, SWTOR-style romance is probably asking too much for this game's format, at least as it stands. Flirty quips, though? More quest progression-based, more personal options to say? Basically, stuff whose impact lasts in the scene and that's about it, as the current quest based options do now? Yes pls.

I recognize admiration just fine. Alphinaud and Alisae are clearly full to the brim with it, for an example. But yeah, I don't know why you keep trying to convince me I'm wrong to want some flirt quips with the crystal cat boy, either.
