I think you are mistaken.

There is no flaw in my opinion, in the rate of XP based on your example. Your saying that 8 people can get XP as a whole 8 or more times faster then 8 people will individually. Makes sense to me.
Not to mention a level will reward 5000-8000 regularly. My leves average 10 minutes. So thats more XP per hour for me, and 10,000-16,000 gill more as well. In a group you will not earn 40,000 gill an hour like you can alone in a leve.

Did you look at the search list and see how many people were on there in your level? I ask this because if there were several, that leaves alot of options for group leaders to chose from. In my experience, if you are not starting your own group, you can't complain just because other group leaders don't pick you.

My point is, you present no evidence to support that the reason you never recieved a group invite, was based on population.

You make unfounded assumption, that you can sit here and make threads blaming SE. Thats as reasonable as if I or others here decided to make a thread declaring the XP system is perfect, and that Zumi either has a bad reputation, or picked a class already saturated on his server, therfore Zumi is to blame for his own inability to be picked randomly off of the search list for a group at his ideal time of day.

I don't start my own group on this game because I would have no clue on where you would even go since I have done what 1 party. I have no clue on any camps. How can I with only like 3 people seeking. I could take a picture right now and you will see only 3 people seeking in my range. The maps are not labeled with level ranges like other MMOs. From what I seen people just get 1 healer and then 7 other people in their range. The one party I had actually had 4 gladiators in it so people really don't care what class they pick up as long as they have their 1 healer.

To be constructive, I will add that FFXIV YG now seems mostly updated with the latest patches. Just go to Databases -> NPCs -> Attackable Mobs and you can filter by rank and zone. I think even see locations displayed on a map. It looks like the Amalj'aa camps in Thanalan have r40-49 mobs, and those usually have good respawn rates. Another option would be Kobold's (mid r40s Upper La Noscea). Or Restless Raptors (40-52) in Western La Noscea.
