My female Miqo'te seems like a great fit for the WoL. I think Square has probably just done a great job fitting everyone in.

I don't recall that website being a official canonized source of reference.
Again, they aren't 16.
They did do a really good job of making whatever sort of character you're playing feel just right. Well done, SE!
She's got a chicken to ri-ide, she's got a chicken to ri-i-ide...
She's got a chicken to ride, this game's from Square!
They don't really treat you as either gender, just when saying "He" or "She" really... And race shows up even less.
The script for the MSQ doesn't care what you're playing as.
Although the canon technically still is a Male Midlander they don't expect you to be one necessarily.

Not to be that person, but they are actually 18 as of now, they were 16 at the start of ARR and some time has passes. However, this changes NOTHING as Elezen are as you said slower to mature so they still definitely qualifies in the "NOPE! You are a creep" category.

That will happen naturally with a character you've grown attached to. If you ever catch me talking about Mass Effect, I always refer to Shepard with female pronouns because that's how I played. From my perspective, the hero of the Citadel is female. Likewise, FFXIV prompts a similar reaction, albeit a little else set in stone if only because it's not a single player game.
