I really don't think anything lgbt related is relevant to this discussion. At all.
Furthermore, I don't see viera to be very romantic, at least not the ones in the wood. To me, any relationship is for the sole purpose of procreation. Other than that, I can't imagine they would have a romantic love life.
If we're talking about viera who decided to leave the wood for good, then I'm not sure. Viera seem like a cold and distant race, and their hearts are rarely won over, if ever. I'm using Fran as an example, but maybe not all viera who leave the wood are this stoic?
How do we know Hrothgar are low population though? Every Dungeon I've ran, there's been 1-2. And not everyone wants feminine men, no.. I mean even with your changed numbers of, 50, 40, 30% etc they would be highly exaggerated. Even the census of LGBT population around the world is not even 4%. Think United States/Canada etc combined is around 4.2%? Europe and surrounding areas like 3.1%?everyobdy forgot about the second part though whic his interesting :/ Male hrotgar numbers are sadly insanely low for a new race, which I hough wasnt gonna belik ethat. Makes me sad. I even have a male hrotgar alt lvl 37 and they look super cool after playing w them.
Oh, and ofc, god forbidd ppl want femenine men, plus it has a lot to do with being lgtb?
I mean, they are highly vocal, this is true. But even though I am considered "LGBT" I personally don't consider myself part of their community due to how they act many times against what I prefer to be associated with.
Just saying =P Numbers help and all. Google search ftw on that end. And I've oddly met few gay/lesbian people in FF14, most of those who say they are, can be found in the forums, which is a very small % of the actual player base. Many still never use the forums, sometimes just make a post or two then gone again.
But going back to my original point, even if some don't agree, and it is just my opinion, I don't see how it correlates in having anything to do with male Viera.
There wasn't actually any reference to male Viera in the original FF, and I'd think the bunny girl aesthetic is purely for fanservice.I really don't think anything lgbt related is relevant to this discussion. At all.

Although their existence was never denied in FF12, they were never mentioned either. The so called "protectors of the forest" lore bit that YoshiP's team used to not implement
male viera and convince players they should not exist, are basically wood-warders, which were female in the original. And they were also seen in some instances.
This is a wood warder:

No need for imprisonment. But yes, I agree that the original topic should continue.
Ofc, I support male Viera, some people really really want them. I am not one of them, but they have already done so much work on it, it would be a shame to throw that away, especially as so many people seem to want them badly.
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.
Someone got the official numbers already; so this is how we know Hrothgar are low population; most folks who seem to be on Hrothgar were previous Roes.To make it easier to look at the data, I made some tables.
Out of the female races, Roegadyn and Elezen were hit the hardest, both losing 10% of their population. Au Ra also lost a lot at 8%, but they still vastly outnumber both Roegadyn and Elezen. Lalafell only lost 2%, which doesn't surprise me too much. One of the biggest reasons why people play Lalafell is because they're tiny, which is something Viera doesn't offer. It should come to no surprise that the top 3 are the "waifu" races. I'm sure it's going to stay this way until the game is finally shut down.
Most of the male races actually saw an increase in their population. Except for Roegadyn, which was hit hard, losing 10% of its population.
Roegadyn are exceptionally rare now. Think of it like this. There are more Hrothgar out there (23,307) than there are male and female Roegadyn combined (22,682). The people who were worried and expressed concerns about the Roegadyn population being thinned out by Hrothgar and Viera were absolutely right.
The census got updated to include Viera and Hrothgar. Viera definitely blew up! Below are the numbers for active players per race (of all the servers/datacenters).
Female Races (from most common to most rare)
1. Miqo'te - 133,844
2. Au Ra - 93,965
3. Viera - 81,278
4. Lalafell - 60,563
5. Hyur - 53,110
6. Elezen - 13,002
7. Roegadyn - 7,175
When you add Lalafell, Hyur, Elezen, and Roegadyn, the total is 133,850. That barely passes over Miqo'te alone, which is at 133,844. Catgirls just completely eclipse over the last four races. The only other two that aren't as overshadowed are Au Ra and Viera. Viera didn't surpass Au Ra like I thought it would, but it did surpass four other races and became third most popular. I would definitely consider that as blowing up.
If my math is right, this means that for every female Roegadyn out there, there are 18 catgirls!
Not surprisingly, Hrothgar didn't blow up as much as Viera did.
Male Races (from most common to most rare)
1. Hyur - 81,390
2. Miqo'te - 69,278
3. Lalafell - 50,183
4. Au Ra - 42,685
5. Elezen - 23,439
6. Hrothgar - 23,307
7. Roegadyn - 15,507
I think out of all the races, Roegadyn (both male and female) were hit the hardest with the introduction of Viera and Hrothgar. Roegadyn is the official unicorn race.
I believe male viera were mentioned in FF12, but never shown. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Is the “this is aimed at lgbt “ community still going onHow do we know Hrothgar are low population though? Every Dungeon I've ran, there's been 1-2. And not everyone wants feminine men, no.. But going back to my original point, even if some don't agree, and it is just my opinion, I don't see how it correlates in having anything to do with male Viera.
It is simple, people know we can’t simply just demand it and see it happen, so they want to slander Yoshi’s Name to attempt twisting his arm up his back by making him have to create male viera to make the claims false.
Sadly it’s likely to have the reverse effect, very rarely will a developer or creator take such extreme behaviour seriously. Because ur attempting to slander his name.
Did he say male viera would be stupid and boring yes, this isn’t a homophobic remark thinking something is stupid isn’t against LGBT, it’s simply a opinon.
We are looking at short elf boys with a mo’tique face and bunny ears, it doesn’t sound great or massively appealing. And would it appeal to a minority, yes it will. But people seem to forget marketing works on the majority, not only a minority.
Could their decision be wrong? Ofcourse. But does that make their intentions wrong? No. It just tars the entire petition by slandering Yoshi in extreme behaviour and decreases the likelihood Yoshi will take any actions to reverting it.
lol, wut? Hrothgar are neck and neck (HA) with elezen males and they out number Roebros and Femroes together. That's perfectly reasonable and good ... and given the males were the only gender to see an increase in players (sans Roebros) that's even better.
And can people stop using anecdotes to make statements about races?
Like here's one for you. I have a friend who transitioned from Male to Female and she loves her Viera. I was apart of a discord that posted Benchmarks and it turns out a LOT of the Viera posters in there transitioned from male to female. Would be silly for me to say this reflects who plays any amount of the Viera population as I've seen tons of straight dudes going Viera and I can't know the personal story behind every player anyway.
