    Are you perhaps hitting Wildfire > Hypercharge > HB Spam? If so, you're probably having trouble getting 6 Weaponskills in the Wildfire window because the first second or so is consumed by Hypercharge's animation lock.

    You could try:
    Wildfire > Regular Weaponskill > Hypercharge > HB Spam
    or
    Hypercharge > Wildfire > HB Spam > Regular Weaponskill

    and you should have no trouble fitting in 6 skills, unless this ping problem I've heard about is WAY worse than I think it is. I've had zero issues fitting 6 Weaponskills in a Wildfire window using the first method. Can't say I've tried the 2nd.




    Just wanted to throw that out there. Other than that, I'm 100% on board with Typhoria's improvement suggestions.

    WF > HC > HBx5 > Weaponskill works fine for me.

    I was referring to the Heat Blasts.

    Only other issue I have with the class is that charging the battery takes a long time.

    While I live in California — and therefore good luck geographically with regard to data center proximity — and am not personally affected...

    There are loads of people out there who can’t reliably even single weave between Heat Blasts without clipping. That’s bad design.

    I usually hit hyper charge first, and then wildfire I haven't had issues, it's close but it works.

    SE is definitely on the right path. I hope they continue with this iteration.



    Though I'm surprised that flamethrower made it to production as is. I personally would like to see a buffed Flamethrower be the skill we use during overheat in dungeons. And just have Autocrossbow be an upgrade from spread shot.

    I liked HW Mch. I was not a big fan of how mch ended out in SB. I am absolutely in love with ShB mch. I just wholeheartedly hope they keep the ideas they have put into machinist now and refine and/or expand on it. To me everything about it just feels so good and fun to play.

    i agree and disagree.

    games cant cater to every audiences, theres thousands of things that disable players in games today.

    Missing Limbs.

    Bad Computers.

    Brain injuries/issues.

    If they tried to cater to everyone for this "good Design" we'd be on 3 button Rotations usuable by a Mouse Alone.

    a 5.0 GCD to cater to pings uptoo 999 MS.

    Reduced Graphics and Animations to help Poorer PCs to perform in the game.

    Slowed down Mechanics to let people have more time to make decisions.

    Does a game on these terms Attract you as a Player, because thats what ur effectively saying "good Design" is. u cant argue that people with high pings Should be adjusted for and ignore every other problem out there thats Inhibiting Players from playing this game.

    the game has High Ping friendly options and Low Ping Preferencing options. that is good Game design, it caters to everyone simultaniously.

    Your insistence that this particular implementation of Hypercharge is the only way to create a fast-paced, high-APM class suggests a lack of imagination. There’s no reason that both couldn’t be possible: change HB’s recast to 1.75s, perhaps, or reduce the animation lock of Gauss Round and/or Ricochet. Either one of those could ameliorate the clipping problems people are experiencing. Maybe the HC/HB window could be altered to a rapid-fire-multi-GCD-combo situation, instead of having to be an oGCD weaving one — would that inherently dumb down the fast action that you clearly enjoy? I don’t see why it would.

    Moreover, a desire to reduce Machinist’s ping-imposed barrier of entry has been central to the community’s feedback for two years now at a minimum.

    I don’t think your argument-to-absurdity of some sort of “slippery slope” caused by adjusting around these ping issues is worth taking seriously in the slightest. Particularly because most of the folks asking for the ping issue to be adjusted would also like more complexity and inflection points of interesting decision-making _added_ to Machinist. It’s just as much hardcore optimizers and theorycrafters asking for these changes as it is new players, if not moreso.

    I was thinking Flamethrower becomes an ability for the turret since we lost an AoE turret.
