    SB MCH high ping comment

    As a high ping, relatively high preforming MCH that cleared both ultimates.

    New MCH is FAR worse for high latency players, its not even really easy to make a high ping rotation for it either like we could for SB.

    This new version of the class is fine but it forces anyone thats been playing this class on high ping to go find a new job and I dont think thats healthy job design.

    Also I think this is fundementally wrong, in my experience talking to other machinists, old and new, the appeal of the new job is just the cool animations that it is. The speed of the class has been a frustration to more than it has been an appeal. MCH has its own unique thing to BRD and DNC now that it wants to just be a full damage heavy hitting class. I dont think being "fast but weak, strong overall" is really important to this image at all.

    TiL that you can only stack wildfire with 5 actions, I been lining up 3 gauss and 3 richochets and been wasting it.

    Untrue. Machinist was second highest favourite on surveys held, several streamers are saying they’d consider giving up their main for it. And tons in streamers chats talk about how amazing it is.

    More people like it now then ever did in stormblood by a large margin

    So no, it has defiantly improved in the majority’s eyes.

    Agreed that MCH is in a better place but..

    I love the MCH as is except for one problem and I don't know if this is my latency or ping or w/e. When you summon the queen or rook it takes 3-5 seconds of your its time before its even attacking. The time itself shouldn't even begin to count down until they have been fully summoned. It feels awkward that Its only use is to come and use its overload IT NEEDS to be summoned faster or more time up. there is something to be done to improve the queen and rook other than using overload

    Yeah it’s summoning animation is weird as hell, espically given its blow up ability is based on how long it has.

    Almost like a enforced balancing tool lol

    I didnt say it hasnt improved in the majorities eyes. I'm saying a robot and drill were enough to get the casual playerbase interested again.

    And that the issues with MCHs clipping have become far worse due to their design on hypercharge. I dont think the appeal is from this fast and clippy part of the rotation but instead comes from the fact that drill is one of the coolest abilities in the game currently.

    Mechanist is definitely in a better place than it was but there are several design problems still.

    Wildfire: Maximum of 1200 potency on a 2min CD, that could be wasted if the target dies to fast or goes invulnerable. For a 2min CD, ending it early with Detonator makes it even more meh.

    Barrel Stabilizer: This is just an extra 2 buttons to start the Wildfire + Heat Blast spam. Could just be combined into Wildfire and auto apply Overheated.

    Hypercharge: Increases single target weaponskill potency by 20. Why exclude Auto Crossbow or even have this? Might as well just boost base Heat Blast by 20.

    Auto Crossbow: Why no cooldown reduction for at least Ricochet? The aesthetic is wasted for this and Bio Blaster for just AoE.

    Flamethrower: 1m CD that does 1000(1100?) AoE potency over 10s. Why does this not build heat? Why does movement or changing direction need to stop it especially since it's a low range skill?

    Battery Meter: It takes ~25-30sec to bring it up to the minimum requirement for turret/queen. There is no way to "bleed" battery power, so saving 100 for a burst phase is penalized. Would the turret/queen just be better as a 30/60sec CD, while the battery is used to power/overcharge tool useage?

    I like the way the class plays but I have some issues with it. First of all, I hate that I'm basically forced to watch my hotbars 90% of the time. Could we maybe move some oGCDs to the gauge? Wildfire also feels very bleh. It used to our big thing but now it feels very weak and just kind of a throwaway spell. I don't like how our Queen is just a fire and forget spell. It doesn't have any other interesting interactions with our kit.

    Flamethrower should have Synergy with Bioblaster IMO. As is it just feels weak. Total waste if AoE's spawn on you and flame thrower is wasted.

    I feel like instead of weaving oGCDS during Heat Blast phase I'd would just use them between each part of the GCD combo leading into Drill or Hot Shot/Air Anchor.

    Split > GB > R > Slug > GB > R > Clean > GB > R > Drill or HS/AA > Hypercharge > HBx5 > Repeat

    Has a nice flow to it. Dunno if optimal but I prefer it to the weaving during Heat Blast. I'd rather get my 5 HB in every time. And Wildfire seems like it's only going to be used for 5 HB and that's it. You aren't getting 6. 5 is cap.

    Reset your oGCD charges with Heat Blast phase. 75 seconds of reduction so wait till both are at 15 seconds and just bring your 3 charges back up.
