Posting something below regarding the Crystalline Mean NPC Thiuna, the cute Vii
Spoilers;
Does she say anything else regarding her father? From what I gather so far is that she was small, she moved to the Crystarium with her mother but lost her? While her father either died, or she doesn't know him? Makes me wonder if Vii/Viera actually know their fathers. Does anyone have any more info regarding this? I know that Thiuna is young for a Vii, she must be around 20-40 since she seemed to be the same age as a Hyur in her story.
While I'm always happy to hear more lore about male viera, I have heard that, at least in other games, it's possible for a viera and someone of another race to have a child together. In other words, we don't know if her father is necessarily a viera.Posting something below regarding the Crystalline Mean NPC Thiuna, the cute Vii

No, it's more the case that Au Ra men already are tall and we're happy about that.Why do the female Au Ra have the option to be shorter than female Miqote and males don't have that option? Basically you want more taller options than males have already?
You're just basically pushing for everything to be taller, I get it. There's no persuading you to change opinions or just really, not butt in. I wasn't even replying to you!
You're the type of dude that wished short male races didn't even exist. (Loathing the existence of catboys) You turn stories around like the ones who want shorter races are the ones drowning out you big buff people.
You have a reply for everything we say. "They need to be tall! They are Jungle warriors! Lore says so!", no, real jungle warriors aren't big and buff,"But it's fantasy!"
You can actually tell that the other way... I wasn't asking for your opinion, dimwit.
After all, this is an open forum and so you cannot really control who will or won't respond to you, nor do you get to claim it's "bullying" when someone does. But I see we've all resolved to play nicely now by making copious use of the ignore function.![]()
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
We've only seen this with Feol - which are all dead and look different from their Vii/Viera counterparts. I have high doubts that Thiuna is one of these. She looks like a full born Vii/Viera. Unlike the other mixed races in this story who show characteristics of both parents. Hilda, for example, or Arenvald and some of the Miq'ote who are half moon/half sun kitten.
Though we do not know if Viera can have children with other races barring the Aegyl, and even then it was with a 'God' who fathered the Feol and not an average being.
Though thinking about mixed races - it's strange where they seem to be very rare. Think about it. With how things are with female Miqo'te you'd expect there be lots of them? In fact, I'm pretty sure that's possible right? Didn't that little perv of a lala in Costa de sol father a child with a female miqo'te? Guess square just doesn't want to push for them to be more of an open thing. And we know that Hyur can have children with Au'ra but they'd be scaleless.
Hmmmm....

Personally, I'd just have made them an impossibility. I don't know why SE even allowed for it. There's no real need to, and unless the hybrid is particularly interesting (think ligers, when it comes to tigers/lions), they don't add an awful lot, besides the design headache they'd pose to implement...
As to why they're a rarity, it may have to do with the biology of it? Like lower fertility rates cross-race, and so on.
At least it's not as contrived as some of the nonsense in WoW.

I think having 'mixed' races on the game in some way would be cool, like allowing u to make a midlander with elf ears, or a miqote with rabbit ears, but its veeeeeery unlikely to happen QWQWe've only seen this with Feol - which are all dead and look different from their Vii/Viera counterparts.
