Discrimination against PS4 users?

Ohh, I'd have joined that party out of spite. I'm quite positive I'd be able to perform without them being any the wiser to me playing on PS4. Sure, playing on controller occasionally affects responsiveness, but it's very subtle and would maybe only matter if you wanted to be absolutely optimal. For a learning party? That's hardly going to matter at all.

They wouldn't know any difference and someone who raided before... their is literally NO difference between KB and controller. The ONLY difference is if you want to use..... the chat box. Thats it that's all. Anyone thinking otherwise needs to get their head out their asses. This isn't 2004... That isn't towards you btw... but more directed at those losers who made that PF.

I am sorry to say this, but with a controller, you always turn slower. Also, if you have a regular PS4 or PS4 Pro, it is slower than if you modify your system like I did. I swap the drive out for a SSD and makes things run so much faster and smoother.

But, because of this, you have to have faster reaction to things than on the PC.

Wait a min.... What if someone is playing on an older PC and therefore has much more lag than PS4....

Yeah, the guy is just being an *** and I have no idea why anyone should be refusing to take people on PS4.

I am sorry to say this, but with a controller, you always turn slower. Also, if you have a regular PS4 or PS4 Pro, it is slower than if you modify your system like I did. I swap the drive out for a SSD and makes things run so much faster and smoother.

Eh,, not really true... loading times aren't a thing to worry about once you're in the instance. And you can change your turning speed to max like I did. hell I found I play abit better than some PC users I know so yeah...

Keyboard has a small bit of input delay on the PS4.
If you play with a controller, there is 0 delay, and equal to PC.
Mouse has noticeable input delay on PS4.
Switching targets, be it enemies or teammates, has larger input delay, that is never consistent. sometimes its nearly the same as all other keybord input delay (like 0.01 of a second)
upwards of a whole second or more in delay, in graphic heavy, 8+ man content. (its random, u dont know when it will happen, and it throws you off a lot as a healer)

so unless you're getting hit by AoEs by 0.01 of a second, you wont really have an issue using KB on the PS4. (I woudl advise against healing on PS4, unless u use a controller, which controller feels the worst on healers, but is plenty possible)

TURN slower?
I use legacy controls, there is no "turn slower". (Why would anyone not use legacy controls?)
Unless you mean the camera, but then who does that, when you can zoom out further, so u can see behind you and to the side of you?
"Turn slower" doesnt apply to FFXIV. only in games like wow. (Which i played with a controller as well, or w/o a mouse, and it was a slight disadvantage)

if you rely on camera to turn yes.. but the camera is only one part of it. Character wise you can turn instantly if you just move the stick in the direction you wanna go.


OP: it's not different than a "Lala only" party. Let people do what they want in PF, it's no skin off anyones nose.

Now, if I was on a controller, I would just strife left or right. There are times you still need to turn, like when you have to face away from the purple eye. With a mouse, you can do that much quicker and therefore have a little bit more time to let the spell finish.

But at this point, we are talking about a fraction of a second and is you have to be pinching for what would be about 2 to 3 extra second of activity out of the whole fight, then there are other problems than hardware.

I can turn away as easily as pushing down on the move stick. I use controller on the PC cause it's comfy, I can lie back and play without even having to have my hands up in the classic PC gamer pose. just.. saying. The controller functionally has little to no functional difference over K/M.

But I will say, the gamepad is not particularly ideal for playing the game in my opinion.

But this have nothing to do with the PS4.
You can play with mouse&keyboard on PS4 and with controller on PC. Playing with controller on PS4 is not worse than playing with controller on PC.
