    I didn't add a "gimmick" because the healers are mostly homogenized now. I also kept the concept to the basic bones because in another thread, people made valid points that SE wouldn't want to "steal" ideas, for liability purposes and what have you. So, I'm mostly just proposing a different approach to a healer class. They, if inspired by us small-fry, could reinvent said ideas with in their own vision. Add their own gimmicks, mechanics, explanations for XYZ so I won't be editing my first post to try and elaborate on points like these. The comments are very interesting to read, however!

    Garlemald Healer - Explosive Specialist
    Garlemald has a people that can't really use magic, so instead they rely on their superior creations: magitek.


    Type Physical ranged healer (can't use magic)

    Weapon Magitek Bombs/explosives
    Aesthetic Garlemald inspired armour, kind of "edgy"
    Stats Probably similar to BRD/DNC/MCH as it'd be a physical range type

    Notable Abilities
    • Damage dealing explosives (equivalent to broil, malefic, etc.)
    • DoT explosives (shrapnel, poison, and/or burn DoTs)
    • Support explosives (smoke bombs, sleeping powder bombs, paralysis powder bombs or electric current bombs that invoke stun)
    • Single heal bomb (throw that explosive at your team mate D: < GO AHEAD)
    • AoE heal bomb I (Like Helios or Medica)
    • AoE heal bomb or turret II (provides another aoe heal that either does regen or barrier or something)
    • AoE barrier (gotta abuse that high magitek stuff, ya?! Yeah!)
    • Either darts, "tonics," or explosives you can throw at people as an equivalent to esuna


    There'd be more skills, clearly, but I'm keeping it basic. Edit: further explanation as to why I'm keeping this proposal basic.

    Honestly, if Garlemald had a battle healer, itd be a chemist - a class that concotes potions to restore or buff allies. Relying more on alchemy and chemistry than raw magic. If it had a gimick, itd be stored heals. You create a bunch of heals that can be deployed as oGCDs (perhaps), but youd have to spend time in teh fight casting (crafting) your heal reserves. So the rotation would be burst healing followed by periods or creating the healing magic potions in luls in combat. Perhaps blend it a bit with MCH and have deployable drones or turrets that provide aoe heals for a small duration of time. So it comes down to managing your reserves and keeping them up. Overspending your heals means you wont have them when you need them.

    Only issue with chemist is that it's basically the (Al)chemist class right now, with the Alchemist class being able to make potions for healing, buffing, debuffing, etc. It's just not a battle class. It'd be a little weird/redundant to have two alchemic classes.

    You get two bars, with chargers or dots or whatever let's say blue and green.

    2 blues 1 green makes a aoe attack 1 blue 1 green, single attack, 2 green 1 blue heals 2 greens aoe heals.

    Wow seeing this thread is pretty funny because I was kind of thinking the same thing when I was in the shower this morning lol. Like others have suggested, I was thinking of a chemist that is the first healer to be dps-like. The main hand weapon would be a grenade or flask that that’s thrown and off-hand is some type of modified auracite. The auracite helps with the dispersion of healing magic to surrounding party members.

    Party members would receive heals automatically based on the activation of weapon skills, but party members would have to be within a certain range. Targeting a friendly and activating an ability called “focus” will cancel automatic area heals, and focus the healing on the target party member with increased potency.

    The main thing with this healer would be a primer and detonation system similar to the mass effect games. Some examples are like this:

    X ability (primer): Throw your flask or grenade at enemy for x potency and inflicting target with “corrupted aether” this ability can stack up to three times.

    Y ability (detonate): Once activated, the corrupted aether detonated dealing x potency and the potency is increased for each stack.

    Then I thought of some ogcd abilities:

    “Additive”: Allows the effects of a primer to automatically obtain maximum stacks.

    “Synergize”: Combine two or more primers for greater potency once detonated.

    "Catalyst": Reduces the cooldown of weapon skills for x seconds.

    The job quests would focus on a Garlemald chemist who defected from the empire after witnessing the effects Black Rose.
