I mean they basically are already Night Elves ...which are wood elves. Fierce warriors and hunters, protectors of nature, males are sent into the forest while society is run by women etc.
Agreed. I haven't played WoW in years though back when I did I favoured blood elves and night elves. I loved how fierce, masculine and regal they looked. They're also very popular races even to this very day from what I gather, so something along those lines would work exceptionally well in FFXIV. It helped that they had a decent amount of bulk and definition, too.
