I have repeatedly stated my own desire for them to be the same height as the women throughout this thread, though I'd settle for the men being a little taller. If we're in agreement, I'm not sure why you feel compelled to bend over backwards to defend those who are pushing for the men to be shorter. There's no 'witch hunt', just strong criticism of those trying to hijack the race for their own purposes. Some of which are nefarious as evidenced by Yoshi-P's official statements.



There's a very strong overlap and since many of us have been posting in this thread consistently since its creation we've seen first hand how some of the people initially pushing for male viera to be child-like have simply shifted their narrative to pushing for them to be slim, short, feminine and androgynous far beyond what is already possible in terms of character creation. No, it isn't 'everyone' though it's a large enough portion that the suspicion is absolutely justified.



See above. The issue is not that people are asking for short characters. The issue is that they are seeking to push the boundaries far beyond what is currently available which pushes things into 'child-like' territory. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.



Yoshi-P and Matsuno have both put forward statements detailing how they envision male viera and in both cases they are presented as being tall. Many of the people asking for them to be short are well aware of that fact and yet seek to hijack male viera regardless. It shouldn't be difficult to work out why that doesn't sit well with those of us who want them to be added as they are described and presented.



I see you completely ignored the points that I raised. Again, Midlanders are popular in large part because they have the most options in terms of customisation. The taller races, meanwhile, suffer from various issues that make them less appealing to play - Elezen being a prime example. Elves are one of the most popular picks in other MMO's yet they aren't in this game due to bizarre proportions.

Midlanders are just so popular because of bots, and, at least I, simply want them to have 'femenine' (a term that I feel describes elegant graceful etc, at least it does where I live) animations, but body wise to be closer to male au ra than to elezen, and height wise 6cm shorter to 6cm taller than females, and, from what ive seen, theres no one (I hope) asking for male ellin

Seriously, whats even the point of u spending so much time on this thread just to say it sucks? You do u ofc, but I'd suggest you instead go and spend ur time in something more meaningfull, specially if you dont care about male viera like you stated pages ago

Tbh, I think the term child is....misleading? when someone says child, you think ages 5-12, and we can all agree no one is asking for an Elin but (probably?) a more fresh out of middleschool anime character look...which is still a minor. Kinda playing with semantics but just trying to guess why the word child may seem unsettling for some. /shrug

I wouldn't mind theo, he's very obsessed with the idea of "child" appearing viera, and at this point in the thread the only person talking about it is him, and it's really weird, no later how many times people tell him they don't want kids, he insists they do anyway. So instead of trying to talk to the brick wall I'm not going to address anymore points about characters who appear like "children" because that is not what I want at all.

I'm even all for more bunny daddies, because if all the viera were cute and soft id wonder where all the bigger guys went, I just want the option to make a soft viera male through customization. Honestly if square ever got on that plan to remove gender locks on clothing id be so fucking happy. I want that spring dress on my boys.

I for one am not trying to erase the bunny daddies, god no, don't get it twisted I want that too, but I don't want that to be the ONLY option for male viera. I don't really want them to be short either, tall bunnies are a ok in my book.

All I want is to be able to make a cute softer bunny boy, that's it, man.

I think the issue here is that people aren't saying it in the thread, they're saying it outside of the thread. And more still because the first post that puts forward the case for male Viera has a child Viera when there is no logical reasoning for it to be there. It's part of the reason why this thread is a walking meme. It doesn't look good when it's the second image in the post. While I respect Senn's right to not edit their posts. That image is frankly very gross. It's a child paired with an adult. Something that the main developer has actually had to come forward and say 'No.' This is what baffles my mind - if the developer says no, why still champion for it. And even if you're not championing for it, the fact it's there just raises questions.

Its fine to use this thread for that, also, its a way of showing support. It'd make no sense if we just spammed over and over GIVE US MALE VIERA SE, wouldnt it? Arguments with one another isn't showing support for something. And the Devs don't need OUR insight on how to develop a race thats existed for over a decade.
They have other points of reference, and also...even if we are Paying to Play the game, its still their game, their decision is what matters in the end. All we are doing here is sharing what we think will happen and how we envision Male Viera for ourselves. What we think they look like and how WE want them doesn't matter in the grand scheme.

Trust me, they arn't looking at this thread and saying "We should make them look like this because thats what the NA Forum Thread says."

With Shadowbringers having been out for a bit now, figured I'd come back to this thread and say that one of the few negatives is the incomplete races. Especially when the story has such a focus on people coming together in times of crisis having halves of communities inexplicably missing or segregated feels like its a little detrimental to the story themes.

On the whole great viera design debate... I sorta would like to see what the art team would have come up with if they'd fully gone for the idea of male viera. I'd prefer something more highlander or elezen looking but what really hits me is the feeling of something unfinished in a game we praised for removing genderlocks when 2.0 came out.

Of course we're back to the body type discussion. This thread's great when we can stop tearing each other's faces off long enough to have an actual support thread but the moment a single one of you mentions that men have body types it's time to throw down.









Aaand I'm still here to contribute. I said last time I think a tall male Castanic build would be cool. I like the defined musculature with the slender waist and broader upper body. I was rewatching Hunter x Hunter for like the fourth time please help me and Chrollo looks a lot like that imo. I'd def be down for a character model that.
