I would love to get a job similar to his fighting style. He looked pretty awesome.
But we aren't those franchises. FF's Beastmaster is usually archery oriented with pets that you catch in the wild and use as attacks.
No, no it isn't. If anything Whips are more associated as a weapon for them with most FF's I'm seeing not using Bows at all. Including FFXI which uses melee weapons.
Why would you think BST would use a ranged weapon? Previous games in the series had them use whips and axes (also daggers I suppose). Personally I'd find whips to be ideal, however since they'll be a limited job I'd prefer them to save whips for a non-limited job.Id call it something different. Like Dragonmancer or Channeler. Id rather have a more traditional Beastmaster that uses a ranged weapon like a crossbow. Square Enix has a chance with a unique job that we haven't seen before, and I'd rather they not waste it. A couple more pet jobs would be cool. Also for heavens sake no more limited jobs.
XIV has had impact on Square Enix. Just look at Octopath Traveler. Astrologian showed up in the game as Starseer. It also showed up in Bravely Second. XIV Is a great playground for new ideas that could breathe life into Square Enix games. A dragon oriented pet job would be a fun mainstay.
Ran'jit struck me more as some sort of ascended monk that is particular to the First. He's got all of the traits to be a really top tier monk; a dragon (school/symbol of power), kama (scythe), high yomi (being able to read opponents and predict their next move) and before he fuses with his dragon, he does use unarmed strikes.
