    Dragoon at lv 80

    To all lv 80 dragoons out there, was this class changed in ways that would negatively affect it's pre-5.x playstyle? I'm currently 78 and it feels like the job was mostly left alone but with a few added quirks, such as blood/life of the dragon having a 30s base duration, which I thought was nice. Coerthan Torment is an amazing addition to our AoE arsenal, and feels really good to use when all our buffs are lined up, including life surge. I would have preferred Raiden Thrust to emit more of a lightning animation, but that's just a personal gripe. Stardiver just looks like a stronger Dragonfire Dive, same with Jump and High Jump being a stronger and faster version. I really enjoyed how it worked in StB and was wondering if anyone felt it it's been butchered in ShB.

    As far as I've seen, I don't think we got anything genuinely new, but I'm okay with that. I prefer the same old dragoon over one that's been beat with a baseball bat to the face, like dark knights and scholars.

    Not 80 yet, but I'm pretty happy with ShB DRG right now. My only real concern is that I think Disembowel needs its duration extended back to 30 seconds; it makes the rotation feel a bit too tight in the boss fights I've done so far.

    Far from butchered. I don't need new toys if the job is clunky in the first place. This is first time I feel DRG flows almost flawlessly when executed. I think any DRG whose played the job welcomes most of the QoL changes. There's less to think about when playing which can be deemed good or bad since it shortens the gap between good DRG's and bad DRG's but i'm not one to boast that I can hit 3 nastronds b4 the changes. Extra potency everywhere and raiden IMO on bunny looks cool to me XD gaining an extra oGCD to add to our burst is nothing to shrug at either imo. ShB DRG is the most fun I've had on DRG in awhile.

    as you said DRG got very few changes and bigest one of them is that 30sec BotD/LotD and not having to wait 1 or 2 GCD to get full 30sec LotD feels very good. tho there could be made improments to flow between single target rotation and AoE rotation by having fang and claw/ wheeling thrust proc doom spike and coerthan torment to raiden trhust; and as for the dragon sight it is very nice for solo play to be able to cast it on your self but for raids casting range could be increased to 25y while maintaining 12y radius for right eye to get its effect.

    p.s. we also need the old HW geirskogul back

    edit: also elusive jump should be stackable actions and/or have shorter CD

    With the changes to DRG, I strongly believe that we became the best AoE melee DPS with Coerthan torment and Stardiver + 30sec base time on Life of the dragon

    Also, the shorter delay for High jump lets us double-weave any non-jumps OGDCs.

    Small downside is that Stardiver has (or feels like) 2.0 vanilla jump position lock on cast.

    Also, just because it was not clear before, at least for me, but you only need to hit the positional on your final "Fang and Claw" or "Wheeling Thrust", not both like it could be easily mistaken by the tool tip of "Lance mastery II" trait.

    Currently, I see nothing to be changed to DRG with either its rotation, cool downs or potencies. Even with Stardiver lockdown I can live with it since you can only use it once per life of the dragons and you have ample time to determine when it is safe to use Vs Jump where you want to use it as soon as its available for maximum use.
    Only thing that could change is that Coerthan Torment could refresh disembowel instead of extending Blood of the dragon, but with the current experience, its not that much of a downside.

    at least from my experience hight jump only allows you to start moving only split second sooner than regular jump; douple weaving would reguire at least 2,7sec GCD with 50ms ping

    Looking at the new DRG abilities & how it's played I like their new additions.
    2 notes though:

    1) Would be nice to have the 10% damage buff from Disembowel on either Sonic Thrust or Coerthan Torment instead of both refilling our BoTD gauge
    2) Part of me wishes that Stardiver "kind of" worked like HW Geirskogul but i'm fine with how it works right now either way.

    I'm not fully happy with it.
    I never liked using the botd but in 5.x I don't mind using it now at least more often then I was, which was just about never.

    Stardiver seems OK but it needs to graphiclly hit harder like Dragonfire dive.
    Dmg wise it's OK its dmg range on my character is about the same as Dragonfire dive.

    Dragon sight needs to be buffed for duration to be on par with dnc which can keep it's dmg buff up forever.

    Personally I want dragoon to be burst dd and less sustained dd but that me.

    71 DRG here but it seems to flow okay and I can’t see anything that changes on the way up to 80. I do agree the disembowl buff needs to be a bit longer but that’s easily tweaked.

    I’m just not higher because after ARR and 2 expansions maybe burnt out on the class. I still like it but it hasn’t really changed.

    I've noticed this too. If I go below 850ish Skill Speed, I simply can't keep Disembowel up all the way through. And even at a higher Skill Speed, it's quite tight. I also think they should add a way to refresh Disembowel when AoEing.

    That all being said, Dragoon is an absolute monster at the moment. Our AoE is hilariously strong—competing with BLM of all jobs. And our single target damage easily has us topping the charts. Very little has changed regarding the rotation, but that isn't a bad thing. We more or less got new toys to play around with.
